Boise can be pretty hectic over the Fourth of July—just look at Boise Weekly's assortment of Independence Day picks. If you're looking to celebrate the United States' birthday in grand fashion without the hassle of finding parking near Ann Morrison Park, try Caldwell.

Starting at 10 a.m., the City of Caldwell is throwing its Proud to be an American series of Independence Day events, beginning with a parade featuring Idaho Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter, followed by an 11:30 a.m. opening ceremony, live music, a farmers market, a car show and kids activities. At dusk—around 10:15 p.m.—the fireworks begin at Simplot Stadium.
