One of the most successful collegiate baseball coaches in the nation goes for win No. 600 today when the Northwest Nazarene baseball squad takes the field against Montana State-Billings today.
Ricky Musgraves racked up hundreds of wins as the skipper of the Louisiana State University-Shreveport baseball team before coming to NNU in August 2013.
“I don’t mean to be disrespectful with the number, but really, it’s more of a reflection of me to be smart enough to surround myself with very good people," Musgraves told the Idaho Press-Tribune.
Meanwhile, a professional sports franchise has the chance of racking up the longest losing streak in the history of the National Basketball Association tonight.
The Philadelphia 76ers' epic losing streak has stretched to 26 games thus far. Since the 76ers' last win, the Super Bowl and Winter Olympics have come and gone. This year, they've lost by an average 17 points a game, one of the worst losing margins in NBA history.
In spite of denials from players, coaches and management, conspiracy theorists are certain that the 76ers are tanking to set themselves up for a prime draft pick once the season is over.
But the 76ers can take solace in the fact that the 1949 Providence Steam Rollers couldn't rack up more than six wins in an entire season.
