Need Something To Do Thursday?

Reading is great. It expands your mind and challenges previously held ideals, forcing you to examine yourself and everything you stand for. It takes us to magical places like wizard school and Narnia and teaches us about history. As enjoyable as the personal reading journey is, it would be cool to hear from the actual author.

You can get close to that experience as Janet Worthington, writer impersonator extraordinaire, portrays Little House author Laura Ingalls Wilder as part of the Boise Public Library's Summer Reading Program. For bonus points, run through a flower-covered hillside before you enter the library.

7 p.m. FREE. Library at Hillcrest, 5246 W. Overland Rd., 208-562-4996, boisepubliclibrary.org.
