In late 2014, beer giant Anheuser-Busch purchased Bend-based 10 Barrel, which had opened a brewpub in downtown Boise in April 2013. This morning, the multi-billion dollar brewer struck again, adding Seattle-based Elysian Brewing to its list of acquisitions, Capitol Hill Seattle reports

In a statement released by Anheuser-Busch, Elysian CEO and co-founder Joe Bisacca wrote that he and his partners will continue working at Elysian with its new owners.

"After a lot of hard work, we've grown from one Seattle brewpub to four pub locations and a production brewery. With the support of Anheuser-Busch, we will build on past successes and share our beers with more beer lovers moving forward," he wrote.

Elysian now joins Anheuser-Busch's "Local Champion Brands," which includes 10 Barrel, Busch, Goose Island, Kokanee, Michelob, Modelo, Natural Ice, O'Doul's, Rolling Rock and Shock Top, among others. Financial details of the acquisition have not been released.

Elyian beer can be found on numerous taps across the Treasure Valley, and in this week's edition of Boise Weekly, we examine whether the City of Trees can support its growing number of microbreweries.
