New Mexico // Wash DC poster

Posted By on Sat, Mar 13, 2010 at 8:39 PM

just rolled in to the village of Mesilla, NM (right next to Las Cruces)... really cute little downtown plaza... looks literally like "new mexico". small streets. plaza. we're playing at a good sized cantina called El Patio tonight with locals Alister M and our tour buddy Boy Eats Drum Machine. nice and warm out. love it.

had a quick followup on the festival we played in Vegas on Thursday... here's a cool review of the show we played by a local blog City Life/ — seems as though we represented Idaho alright that night. luckily we slept in today in Tucson and feel nice and rested after the Vegas marathon...

also, very excited for the fundraiser we're playing for the Sunlight Foundation in Washington DC on April 15th. check them out, very cool organization fighting hard for more transparency in government. pumped to team up with them. check out this killer poster that Santiago Uceda created for it.

apparently one of the Sunlight Foundation guys is going to animate this guy. can't wait to see that. we hooked up with these guys back in January when we discovered they'd used our song "A President, A Pacifist, An Auto Restorer" for a video they did on the Washington DC crisis camp they organized to help in response to the earthquake in Haiti. pretty cool. fascinating concept — they were using social networking to help people find their loved ones.. among other things... from crisis camps setup here in the states... check it out

we head to Texas tomorrow for the first time... be in Austin by tuesday.
shutting down the tech stuff now to enjoy this wild wild cantina
thanks for listening
