low-fi spring 2010 Pacific NW tour

We headed out of town last Wednesday afternoon (4/21) to our first gig in Moscow, ID at John's Alley. A nasty spring storm pounded us all the way there but did not detour us from our destination! We arrived safely around 8pm with just enough time to get checked into the Royal Motor Inn, room #211... and grab a bite to eat. I'm not sure if #211 is just for touring bands but ours had no smoke alarms and the towels were embroidered in sharpie. hmmmmmm...

John's Alley was great! We probably had between 50-60 people show up. We were more than happy with the turn out especially with it being our first time to Moscow and on a Wednesday night. Matt Hopper was on tour with us and opened the show, he's got a new album in the works and played a lot of songs from it. Great tunes, definitely worth picking up when it's available at the Record Exchange. Vertical Dave (the man is nearly 7 feet tall) is the sound man and music guru at John's Alley. He's been there for a lot of years and has no plans to go anywhere. It's awesome to run into those rare folks now and again that are just happy with what they've got!

Night two (4/22) found us at Hogan's in Clarkston, WA. Great small town venue, kind of reminded me of a smaller version of the Neurolux but they serve food and feed the band!! Free food for the band is always a welcome perk! We had a good show and sold a few cd's!

Friday morning (4/23) we said good bye to the Royal Motor Inn and hung out in Moscow for the day. Our friends Yarn Owl were playing an outdoor show on the U of I campus so we checked out the show before heading to Spokane.

Empyrean Coffee was our next stop in Spokane, WA. They fed us some really great pizza and were super nice folks all around! We had a great show there as well!

We parted ways with Matt Hopper on Saturday (4/24). He had a show in Yakima and we had a show at The Comet in Seattle. We had a really great night!! Our friends came out in force and to top it off the bands on the bill were all pretty great! The Fuzz opened and blew us away!! The Spinning Whips were cool as well, huge towers of amps and LOUD, LOUD, LOUD!!

After the show our friend Dave let us stay at his storage place down in Pioneer Square. Super cool warehouse space with all kinds of cool stuff! Including a giant head that looked like it cam straight from Easter Island. We couldn't help ourselves and had to get some action shots!! :) The hats are just random lamp shades that were laying around.
