got up really early yesterday morning in Iowa City so that we could cruise to Rock Island, IL to record a session with the infamous Daytrotter crew before heading south to Lawrence. very cool space and got to play on some of their sweet gear, which was nice, especially since it was three flights of stairs up. i rocked their Rhodes and Roland Juno. it was awesome. excited to hear how the session comes out.

got to know a couple of cool new towns this last weekend — Sheboygan, WI on saturday and Kalamazoo, MI last thursday. got real intimate with the locals in both towns. always learning. recorded a live session with Western Michigan's college radio station WIDR on thursday that will probably get posted soon. played with two sweet sweet bands that night at The Strutt in 'ol Kalamazoo — Pan and Good News.
Chicago on Friday was a blast. local bands Hot Cops and Teenage Rage were highlights. Hot Cops especially. The Elbo Room is a really cool space, but it seems hard to get people in there. rad lights and sound. cool neighborhood. it ruled. in its own special way.
got a couple of quality nights of sleep in the van over the weekend and caught up with some great friends in Sheboygan. crazy fun show at The Green Room in Sheboygan on Saturday. ate some cheese and brats. then Irish car bombs with the locals and a sweaty set of rock n roll. really cool scene. Milwaukee throwback garage rockers Surgeons in Heat opened. we liked them. John Mayer played guitar and sang with them. not sure how much they dug us giving them shit that Lisa Simpson was way cooler than John Mayer, but it's true.
all of this, especially with the long drives, has had us reflecting on this tour a bunch the last couple of days. seems like several tours ago that we were in Seattle and Bellingham and Portland, when in fact it was the beginning of this tour back on the last weekend in February. been a really incredible tour on multiple fronts. so thankful to have been given this opportunity and for everyone that has come to shows and given us places to crash and good foods to eat along the way. extremely grateful for all the kindness and good spirit that has been offered up along the way. thank you thank you thank you.
hard to believe that we'll be back in Idaho in 3 days. Day 76. Minneapolis tonight. Dickinson, ND tomorrow. Missoula, MT on thursday. Moscow, Idahoooo on Friday. back in Boise on Saturday. hellz yeah. can't wait to see you all!
love
