We had an amazing premiere here Friday night. Mahalia Jackson Theater was full (2300 seats) of folks as crazy as our home audience. The Preservation Hall Jazz Band started their overture set and about 2 minutes in, the fire alarms went off. Almost everyone stayed in their seats until it was (quickly) taken care of and it helped get people loosened up. Mark (trumpet and vocals) said "I though you were all getting up to dance." I can't imagine the show could have gone better.
We've been in residence in New Orleans all week, working with the band. This is an opportunity we don't get very often, so it was very special for everyone in the company.
We hope to see you in Boise when we open the same show, live with Preservation Hall...March 12th.
