      The fusion of fashion and art will be on display Friday, Oct. 26, when BAM presents its Art of Fashion Show. The museum hosted a Recycled Fashion contest in early May, in which designers submitted their creations of attire made from repurposed materials. Those designs will head down the runway at the show, and attendees can vote for their favorite, with the victorious designer taking home $500.

      According to a press release, Daisy's Madhouse sold out all seven performances of its Evil Dead The Musical production last year. The nonprofit theater company is bringing back the hilariously horrifying story of five people who journey to a remote cabin and end up turning into zombies. The return production promises not only more opportunities to see the show, but even more fake blood.

    Thursday, Oct. 11-Sunday, Oct. 14
      Eighteen trucks will haul the elaborate, handmade costumes and 26-foot-tall, 60-foot-wide metallic set for Cirque du Soleil's performance of Dralion. The East-meets-West, humans-and-nature themed show will have a seven-performance run at Taco Bell Arena Thursday, Oct. 11-Sunday, Oct. 14.

      But the fun isn't all for the legal-to-drink set. From noon-5 p.m., attendees of all ages can explore the rides of yesteryear with a car show from This-N-That Classic Car Group and peruse crafts from local artisans.

      The event is hosted by industrial recycled-art purveyor Refinerii and will employ a Venetian carnival-steam punk theme. Think feathers, masks and elaborately embellished attire mixed with goggles, top hats and industrial items. Attendees are encouraged to don costumes and prizes will be given out for best mask, top hat, overall costume and more.
