Fiber artist Eliza Fernand embarks on a cross-country jaunt
By Tara Morgan
Utilizing splashy neon fabrics and triangles of teal and gold lame, Eliza Fernand fashions quilts that would make just as much sense on a synth-pop album cover as they would folded delicately at the foot of a bed.
More than 100 various acts--bands, hula hoopers, karate kids, stilt-walkers, burlesque troupes, break dancers--will vie for the top prize: $1,000 cash and their name etched onto the 3-foot-tall metal Curb Cup.
Organized by Go Listen Boise and Rediscovered Bookshop, Rock to Read will bring together musicians, performers and authors to raise money to purchase a set of award-winning books for every school in the Boise Public School District.
