“I don’t see a lot of sportsmen in Idaho as being the tweed-jacket-and-knicker-wearing kind of guys. I don’t think the majority of sportsmen in Idaho want to see their public lands closed off for English driven shooting in tweed.”
The Walker Fire near Idaho City started as an easily-contained small blaze until winds picked up and pushed the fire out of control. Air quality in the Treasure Valley ranges from moderate to very unhealthy.
The Idaho Department of Lands planned to harvest logs from a burned area near the Selway River for $2 million. After a lawsuit stopped IDL from sending logging trucks, it will use helicopters to log the land.
