University officials said the letters were erroneously sent when they accessed the wrong applicant database. The good news, they said, is that most of the students are still under review for possible acceptance.
Among the highlights was Ybarra's request to return discretionary funding—used by school districts for staffing, utilities, supplies, transportation and curriculum—to Fiscal Year 2009 levels. The proposed discretionary funds is approximately $25.6 million, about $1.8 million higher than FY 2016.
In 2010, Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter set a goal of having 60 percent of Idaho's young adults completing a post-secondary degree or certificate by 2020. But Idaho currently stands at about 42 percent young adults with that achievement.
