  • Tibbs in the Sky

Seems someone decided to do some pointed campaigning.

Four large banners touting Boise mayor candidate Jim Tibbs appeared in the windows of the Washington Mutual Bank building—which just happens to be across the street from Boise City Hall.

  • Bieter, Tibbs Show Some Teeth

Maybe we were speaking a little too soon when we said the Boise mayor’s race was going to be a competition between two nice guys.

There were some decidedly pointed responses Wednesday afternoon when Boise Mayor Dave Bieter and his challenger, city councilman Jim Tibbs, met at a debate sponsored by KBOI, the Idaho Business Forum and IQ Idaho.

Mayoral candidates strive to set themselves apart

  • Winder's Out of Mayor's Race

    Boise is "too Democratic"
Chuck Winder says he's not going to run again for the office of Boise Mayor.

His decision not to run again leaves Mayor Dave Bieter with just one Republican opponent so far, City Councilman Jim Tibbs.

Winder told BW today he has a lot going on at his real estate business, but that the recent Democratic upsets in Legislative seats affected his decision.

"Boise's changed," Winder said. "The Democrats have done a good job here."

The United States has been called a "melting pot," a colorful stew of race, culture and ideology that borrows from all over the world. As a result, ancestral lines have blurred over the years, breeding affection for many lands and people without full understanding or appreciation of what it means to be Irish, Mexican, German or Greek.
