Merchants choose to participate in our BW card program in three ways: BW Card, SmartCard or gift cards. BW Card will continue the same way it has always worked at designated merchants. SmartCard is an improved mobile solution managed from your smartphone. You must download the app and use SmartCard at participating merchants. Gift cards will be for sale at Boise Weekly office only. All three options provide you with a discount. The only difference is the way you will pay at the merchant and the list is provided below. Before reviewing the list, please note some important things for you to do:

• Please make sure that you provide your email address so that you can receive important updates as we enhance our program and add new merchants. Join our email update list here and select the BW Cardmembers list. Don't forget to add bwcard@boiseweekly.com to your address book so we'll be sure to land in your inbox.
• If you do not intend to use our new SmartCard, there is no action required on your part. BW Card will continue working as it always has but only at participating merchants.
• If these changes do not work for you and you chose to no longer participate in our program, please send an email to bwcard@boiseweekly.com and we will be happy to refund your balance.
• If you would like to start using SmartCard, the log in is the e-mail address you set up your BW Card with and the same password. You must download the app to your smartphone. Search for "Smartcard". It is called "Smartcard My City" at iPhone store and "My City Smartcard" at Google Play Store for Android. The icon is a green background with a white "S".
• If you have value remaining on your card and would like it moved to Smartcard, download the app to your device, set up an account on your iPhone or Android and then send an email to bwcard@boiseweekly.com to request your funds to be moved to SmartCard. You will receive an email confirmation once complete and please allow 24 hours on weekdays or the weekend.

Merchants on SmartCard have a limited amount of credit available each month. Once that limit is reached, the merchant will not accept SmartCard until the beginning of the following month.Check your SmartCard before you go somewhere to make sure that funds are available at that merchant.

When you pay with your SmartCard, you will receive a transaction Id after processing your payment. Make sure that you show your device with the transaction ID to your server. This will be the box that pops up after you hit the green confirm payment button and also includes the original and discounted total of your bill. If you by chance miss this important step, you can also get this information from "View History" within the app.

Merchants that will continue to take the BW Card will be listed on at BW Card Website, where you will also be able to load value onto your existing card. Please remember that value on the BW Card can only be used with merchants that accept the card, but not at those that are part of the SmartCard program.

The main difference that you will notice between the BW Card and the SmartCard is that discount amounts may vary by merchant and the discount is applied at point of purchase, not when funds are added to your SmartCard. For example, when you add value to your phone, the actual value will be added dollar for dollar to your account. After dining when you pay with your Smartphone, the discounted amount will be deducted from your balance. For example, if the merchant designated discount is 30 percent and your bill is $30, you enter the bill total of $30 and the discounted amount of $21 ($30-$9) will be subtracted from your prepaid account.

All information about our merchants and available gift cards will always be available at bwcard.boiseweekly.com. Remember to always check our Website at bwcard.boiseweekly.comto confirm the status of the merchant you would like to use. As we enhance our program, some merchants will be moving from BW Card to SmartCard and new merchants will be added. We have gift cards and tickets available for the following merchants for BW Card holders. These must be purchased at Boise Weekly office.
