Re: “Islam: A View From the West

The lecture was well done and informative for people who may have known little about Islam. I wished that there could have been more emphasis on the peaceful nature of Islam, Islam's great contributions to our western culture, and the early history which brought about the schism between Shia and Sunni.

Re: “Thursday Blockbuster Series Presents: Django Unchained

It’s not the best in terms of picture quality, as they just playing DVDs over regular projector, but it’s cheap (free for faculty and students), and popcorn and sugary poison drinks are included.

Re: “Shipwrecked

Probably the largest cast I've seen on stage of a BCT production, where the usual seems to be 1 to 3 actors. The story retells the true tale of Louis de Rougemont, an adventurer and Robinson Crusoe wannabe, who is maybe not everything he seems. Dwayne Blackaller in the title role has no problem holding your attention. He acts, dances, sings, walk stilts and performs 'acrobatics.' He is great in this. We loved Nylda Mark in a previous BCT production, and she is utilized to maximum effect, playing a variety of supporting roles. Stitch Marker is a complete scene stealer, especially when acting as Rougemont's faithful dog. The stage set is beautiful, and I loved the live music and sound effects in this rollicking tale. This production is suitable for family viewing (something not true for most BCT plays) so we grabbed the opportunity to treat the family to an evening of live theater.

Re: “Antsy McClain and the Trailer Park Troubadours

Antsy and the Troubs are great! I've seen this band perform several times. I guess you can call me a Flamingohead, which is what Antsy's loyal fans call themselves. Antsy and his "sons of hitches" give you your money's worth. Antsy is an amazing songwriter and has been known to hang with folks like Willie Nelson, Tommy Smothers, Lindsay Buckingham, Bobby Cochran, Bonnie Bramlett and others. This show will brighten your day and lift your spirits. This show is also for a great cause, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Re: “The Bogus Basement Band

What a fun little band. Seems like the play a little of evrything. One of the hottest keyboard players in the valley. They haven't been around very long and should only get better with time. They play songs that just about everyone should recognize. Good harmonies. If you want to sing along, go and see them they are a lot of fun.

Re: “Treasure Valley Train Expo

I attended the Train Expo last year. A must-see for the entire family. Loads of fun, and entertainment for kids of all ages, 7-70.

Re: “Travis McDaniel

Just left LuLu's. Had the Caprese salad and a slice of potato/leek/blue cheese pizza. Both were terrific. The entertainment was a singer named Travis McDaniel. He has an incredible voice. Really had a nice experience.
