Racist décor- Unfortunately we did not notice the racist décor until after our meal. When we let the server know that the décor was offensive, she let us know that they all knew it was offensive as they have had complaints before but the owner refuses to take down their ‘Mammys’ because they are part of her grandfather’s “Mammy collection” (as if this explanation makes it ok? If my grandfather was a Nazi, I wouldn’t display his regalia)… Server’s response was “You can’t change everyone”. Nope, sure can’t but I can decide to not eat breakfast surrounded by willful ignorance. I will not be returning to The Griddle. I will be encouraging others to find other restaurant options.
Why is the "Mammy" stereotype harmful to African American women? Here are a few links:

Low wage workers who don't care and why should they? A group of three ahead of me in line. Took an hour t o get Ice cream.
If anyone has information about the whereabouts of Cristi and Hardy Flowers please post on this blog and email me at email@example.com. I have an ongoing class action civil and criminal lawsuit against them pending, but it is difficult to serve them paperwork due to there transient nature. Thanks for your help in this matter.
The bacon in my bacon and cheese omelet was burnt to the point that they were semi-solid chunks of black ash. The hashbrowns were also burnt to the point of blackness. I told the server, "This is inedible, it's way too burnt," then she said, "Sorry, I'll go get your check."
Absolutely disgusting food and service.
I absolutely love authentic Mexican food and was so excited to try this place. Maybe we just hit a bad night but I really did not like my dish, and I just got a regular nothing special chicken quesodilla. Figured I'd start with something safe that I couldn't go wrong with. The chicken was dry and smelled bad. It was enough for me not to want to come back.
Went to this restaurant tonight to celebrate a friend's birthday. I must say this was absolutely the worst dining experience of my life!! Here is a summary of my experience there:
1) lousy, inconsiderate service. After waiting over an hour for our food, the waitress did not have the decency to apologize for the horrible service. She doesn't have a clue how to treat people and should not be a waitress!
2) We had to get our own drinks!
3) I ordered a chicken sandwich. I was given a steak sandwich with no explanation, no effort to make it right by bringing me what I ordered! The waitress is in the wrong job field! She has not clue how treat customers or admit her mistakes.
4) My steak sandwich was awful, too much grizzle in the meat and hard to chew. Again, I was supposed to be given what I ordered- a chicken sandwich!! But, she did not even say anything or make an effort to do the right thing!
5) Our food arrived about 1 hr and 25 minutes after our order was placed!
No more for me!
First of all, we waited for 30 minutes before they even took our order. Then, the waitress proceeded to drop half of our pizza on the table. Which I understand mistakes happen, but instead of letting us eat the fresh, non-dropped half or making us a new pizza altogether, she let the pizza sit for another 30 minutes and made only 4 new pieces. So we were served half ice cold pizza and half fresh pizza. They also only offered to give us a 50% discount and refused to go lower even though we were waiting for over an hour and were served cold pizza! On top of the unbelievably long wait, both the waitress and what I assumed to be the manager (not sure because no one was wearing name tags) were not nearly as apologetic as they should have been. They were both very rude and did not seem too concerned about providing adequate service. I think it's safe to say I will never be returning to Richie's!!!!
Stiffed Contractor, you are not the only person they stiffed. They got me good when they shut down their Fort Lee location. Rumor has it they ditched Boise and are on the run again.
Don't waste your time. You will be pissed you did.
Took my wife there on Mother's Day. Big mistake. After we both ordered ribs, the waitress returned to tell us they were out of ribs and it would be a few hours. Impressive for a BBQ joint. I ordered the breaded pork tenderloin. It was not breaded and tasted mostly burned. My sons ordered the kids riblet, which was just a bone with some sauce on it...literally nothing to eat off of it. They ended up eating the rest of my burned sandwich. The best thing I had was a coke, which was cold and tasty. Their parking lot is almost always empty, even during meal hours. This should be your first clue that this is not a good restaurant. Go to GoodWood instead.
Terrible at best, food was so bland I might as well eaten ice cubes. They have no idea what an egg roll is (hint it's rolled and in a wrap) and pork whatever you don't just have nasty dish (and the fried rice and chow mien are nasty) in a pot staying hot then put a couple of pieces of pork on it. Last bit not least when someone calls to complain don't yell at them (see Amy's baking company).
so, we're new to town and went to another place that serves gyro's and we loved it. So we figured we'd give this a try. BIG mistake. Their chicken is like a thick slice of bologna. Nasty. Will not ever eat there again. Ever.
Menu is very limited. No options if you don't eat meat, go else where before you hit a show at Majestic.
The food is good, service is bad.... Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way.
Have seen more stock and better quality elsewhere in Boise.
The bar "in the lobby " is okay as a bar, though sitting in the bar watching people check into the hotel isn't really intimate. IMAGINE, though, being seated in that tiny, dark bar for a $40/head Easter brunch buffet for which we had made a reservation the previous week (-- in the main dining room). Yup.Happened to us: maybe a fluke like when the airlines tell you they overbooked, but that isn't any fun, either!. We left before being given the "chance" to eat there in the bar--and carry our buffet plates back and forth across the lobby/foyer from the buffet table in the main restaurant 50' away. Instead of being seated in the white-table-clothed dining room, we were ushered back across the hotel lobby to the little, dark bar, where the hostess attempted to put us at a 20" diameter pub table. We didn't stay long enough to see if that $100/brunch would have included paper napkins on the metal-top table. When we said that eating in the bar wasn't what we had in mind for Easter Brunch, the hostess just said, "Well, sorry this doesn't work out for you." Really? Could we have done any worse WITHOUT reservations in advance? One other group was eating in the bar--albeit in a booth,--but I think they were hotel employees getting in on the brunch….. We've eaten in the bar before and the burgers were fine, and we've eaten in the restaurant for breakfast before and the eggs benedict were pretty good (hence our reservations for Easter) BUT if you can't COUNT ON your reservation guaranteeing you a seat--or even of being informed, when you made the reservation, that you might be seated in the cloak-room, is it worth going there? I'd suggest Chandler's or the Owyhee Brunch, and you have to make reservations in advance, but they won't shuffled you off into over-flow parking just to make some extra money.
Twice i have been to this restaurant and ordered there Pho. This soup is suppose to be accompanied with Basil. If You know your Pho, Then you should understand what a significance it is with the soup's flavor. It is advertised with it. After the second time ordering this soup from this establishment, and again being told sorry no more Basil after taking my money, i returned it and will not return. No other restaurant where i have ordered Pho soup has left Basil out, or run out of Basil. Again this is a key ingredient to the soups flavor.
Sharon you have no idea what you are talking about. Google "Java Junkiez coffee" and read about all of the horrible things these people have done. Then they ran off to Idaho. lol. Kind of like a movie. And you are wrong about Keesha's post. They left Kenner in the middle of the night just like everywhere else. Trust me I know. I was there!
