Beautiful venue... the old brick building and lights are charming.

-***NEGATIVE STARS NEEDED FOR THIS COMPANY AND THEIR MANAGEMENT
YOU DO NOT want to have your event at this place. They will turn your supposed to be positive experience into a horrible one. Stay away! They want all the money and will charge you extra for anything they can but do not pay their vendors or contractors. The kitchen is also nasty with fecal matter.

Re: “Meridian Senior Center at the Park

My husband and I rented these facilities last year for our wedding and sadly I can NOT recommend anyone use them. To start with you could never get ahold of the event coordinator. Her voicemail was always full and she never called back. Second no one gave us the number of who to call if we had issues during the wedding. When we walked in, The men's bathroom had completely flooded and we were forced to clean up water all night. If that was not bad enough they blamed us for the damage and kept the entire $400 deposit. Though it was not required we mopped the floors and cleaned up chairs yet on our invoice they claimed we left a mess with computer cords unplugged and that the front door was broken. When we attempted to get in touch with them to disputed the charges they refused to call us back because the "voicemail was full." For a young, newly married couple they did everything they could to make things difficult. Save yourself from the greif when you return from your honeymoon, have your wedding where you will be treated well.

Re: “PowerHouse Event Center

Such TERRIBLE management. I wish I could give negative stars. We had our wedding reception at the Powerhouse on August 2nd. Their in-house caterer also did dinner for us, and the food was delicious, I will give them that.

However, when we verbally said that we would be having them do the food for our wedding, they took the liberty of charging the credit card that we had used to pay the venue fee with. NO contract had been signed allowing them to charge anything, NOTHING had been said about allowing them to use that card. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is that or is that not credit card fraud? Don't worry, that's just the beginning: not only did they charge the $2,600 deposit without authorization, they charged it THREE TIMES. Three!! When we called to see what in the world happened to almost $8,000, they were blatantly unapologetic and explained that $2,600 was for the deposit, and $2,600 was for the remaining balance (STILL NO AUTHORIZATION TO EVEN RUN THAT CARD). Fine. We figured we were going to pay that $5,200 anyway, so fine. They claimed the 3rd $2,600 charge was an accident and would be refunded immediately. This FIRST refund promise was in early June. After many empty promises of reimbursement, followed by months of unanswered phone calls and emails, here we are in the middle of November and we have STILL not been refunded that $2,600!! Needless to say, we will be seeing them in small claims court.

The management at this place is so atrocious, I would never in a million years recommend it to anyone. The day of our wedding, the "event coordinator," Jennifer, had the worst attitude I've ever seen, especially for a (self-proclaimed) professional. It was horrible. They had been asked at 10:00 that morning to turn on the air conditioning, so when did it finally get turned on? About halfway through dinner at 6:30 that evening, after the place was packed full of 200+ HOT people and the best man had to practically BEG Jennifer McSunshine to turn it on (I realize a tiny bit of that is my bad for having a wedding in early August, but really? NO A/C??).

The Powerhouse is a gorgeous building, and it's very unfortunate that these people are running it into the ground like this. On the bright side, at this rate they'll be out of business SOON, so hopefully someone that has half a brain can take over.

Re: “Expo Idaho (Fairgrounds)

Wow, I called the fairgrounds & talk about rude. Maria treated my call like there was a fire. She kept saying $8 & I had not asked my ? yet, my ? had nothing to do with cost, I had a ? about where the disability entrance was. I would like to know why someone in a wheelchair is having to pay full price. If I could do what others can then I should pay the same, but I can't get out of my wheelchair. I usually cannot get into a lot of the animal area's and even some exhibits. And our caregiver's get a really raw deal. This need's to be changed. Senior Citizens pay less and yet there are a lot of them that get around without ANY issues.

Re: “Surprise Valley Clubhouse

This place is perfect for any kind of party for any age. I have lived in the neighborhood all my life, and have loved coming here in the summer to swim and even using the clubhouse part in the winter for parties. Sometimes in the, summer it is fun to go to the downstairs part and workout and then go swimming and take a bike ride or a run back to your house.

Re: “Eagle River Pavilion

I went to see Olivia Newton-John last night at the Eagle Pavillion. She's a great performer. This was the first time I had attended a show at this venue and the last!! I was screamed at by another attendee while exiting the restroom for what she said "Your chair is too high". Apparently there are regulations I was unaware of. Please note we were at one end of the fenced in reserved seating and there were at least 20 chairs in this row of the same height. Not knowing what the hell "freakshow" was talking about I went back to my seat only to shoved (almost out of seat) for holding my camera up to take a photo. When I told her I didn't know what her problem was with me she proceeded to try and kick my feet out from under me while I was telling her to leave me the "F_ _ _ Alone"!!! Where in the hell is security out there??? I expect this kind of shit at say, Guns & Roses, but seriously Olivia Newton-John!! To say my evening was completed ruined by "freakshow" is an understatement. They DO NOT have defined rules at this venue...it's apparently up to the audience to dictate and enforce the rules!!!!

Re: “Eagle River Pavilion

Why doesn't the Eagle River Pavilion have a website with photos, rules, and everything else you need to enjoy a concert. Like, what time do doors open??? What can we take in? Jeeezzzzz!!!! If there is a website I can't find it!~

Re: “Surprise Valley Clubhouse

Noise ordinance and sound restrictions make this location poor for having any event beyond 9pm.

Re: “The Open Space

I went last weekend and had a great time. The food was fabulous with great service! I had so much fun dancing and jamming to the great music. I can't wait to go to the magic show this weekend. I am so glad we finely have a place here in the Boise area that has it ALL! I am going to tell everyone I know!

Re: “Eagle River Pavilion

I was there last night. The sun sets earlier now so it wasn't that big of a deal. You have to remember that venue is located close to residential areas and they have little choice where to direct their speakers. Sound travels for miles. Last night was kind of a bummer because Michael McDonald was apparently ill and could not sing. They did not notify the audience of this until the intermission. That was kind of a cheap shot. Boz Skaggs was good, but I really wanted to hear Michael McDonald.

Re: “Eagle River Pavilion

I have never seen a more poorly designed venue than the Eagle River Pavillion. Instead of having the sun set behind the stage like most outdoor arenas, the sun stays to the side and beats down on the patrons and the band the entire time. At the last concert I attended, even the lead singer of the band complained. There is no ambience of the river, only the accompanying mosquitoes. It is basically a flat piece of dirt with chairs placed on it, too close together.

Re: “Boise Hotel and Conference Center

Did you know the Holiday Inn Airport has a SteakHouse? It is the hidden gem of Boise for steakhouses. The Castle Ranch Steakhouse is located inside the lobby. It features local Double R Ranch Beef. I had the 18oz bone in reibeye with freash veggies and chedder hash. Tis was I think the most tender steak I have had in boise. It was cooked to perfection and so much on the plate. Next time you are in the mood for steak give it a try. Located inside the Holiday Inn Boise Airport at 3300 Vista Ave, Boise ID 83705 at the freeway.
