I have been a member of IAC for a few years never really had any issues until February 28, 2011. I was chemically burned over 90% of my body using the hot tub at the Lake Harbor facility. What has occurred is a loss of body hair, patchy red rash spots, extreme burning and itching and of course the smell of the chemicals as they reverse and eventually exit the pours. This club has been contacted on more than one occasion to provide my health care provider a list of the chemicals and amounts used in the routine maintenance of the hot tub, those efforts as of this review have gone ignored. My doctor is trying to establish a method of treatment. Currently I am prescribed a cream designed for extreme cancer radiation patients and it is having little success. It is interesting that in the year 2000 the great state of Idaho decided NOT to continue regulating Health Club facilities because they are considered "semi-private clubs" not "Public Pools", so they are EXEMPT from regulation and state jourisdiction. So these club owners can be as negligent as they wish with little reprocussions. As of this review, the problem still exists at this club. Efforts were not made to drain and correct the chemical situation in the hot tub.
I guess you could say "BUYER BEWARE" when joining, before using any of these facilities please check out the "Clarity, Color, Smell and Temperature" before using these facilities. I am very much concerned for the many innocent people who have unknowingly fallen victim to this situation. If you are a member of IAC and have had recent exposure to this situation you need to contact CENTRAL DISTRICT HEALTH 208-375-5211, and also the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU 208-842-4649 and please see a Doctor for treatment, their could be other complications caused by this neglect. In my opinion it is time these guy's step up and take responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of their club members above selling new memberships!. In one day I have racked up in medical bills twice as much money as my yearly membership fee's, I don't want you to be next!.It is my understanding that the staff at these clubs are responsible for the monitoring of these chemical levels in the pools and hot tubs, that in itself is very scarry!. Idaho law needs to be changed and your local legislator needs to hear your voice and make these organizations accountable for their actions!. Thank You for your attention!

My daughter went for eyebrow threading at Euphoria salon by Danielle and on the right side the eyebrow was uneven, she took way too much off and chopped off. she said she didn't notice anything with the eyebrows when she was done. Danielle should not do eyebrow threading or anything with eyebrows ever again. she is not professional at all. she should spend more on eyebrows rather than just 10 minutes. really bad job on eyebrows
My first stop when I need a wine to go for a certain meal. The owner only stocks wines she has tried and approved and has a great knowledge of pairings. Ask when they are doing their next big dinner, where you get seveal courses matched withed wine for what has to be the lowest 4 or 5 course meal in town. Good selection of chocolates and sweets and live music on Friday evenings. I like some other coffee shops in town more for coffee but this place is a one stop for coffee, wine, small gifts and a great meeting place to catch up with friends.
Clean, friendly, professional. Work to your schedule. I get compliments all the time on my tattoo. BEST place ever!!
We really love this place. No matter what you're in the mood for - coffee, wine, beer, food - you can get it here. They have a great menu despite not having a full kitchen. Friday night wine tastings are fun. Tom and Cristi, the owners, are great.
ME my wife and younger daughter paid 3 years in advance..they just kept making bigger and better offers. and milking more and more money out of us we started with a year then 18 months then the 3 years .and my oldest daughter and her husband paid 3years in advance as well..when they fired all their sales staff i got nervous about this and i went to their new CFO GRANT MUIR when i saw services get cut about their solvency ,he assured me my money was safe basically and said " he's still be here running this place in 20 years..i call that a personal guarantee..look out boys here i come i am going to take you to task for this..hello ag's office.tommorow am.it seems they knew what they were doing and continued to solicit funds..when they knew they were going down.
All do respect. My response is due to this confusing comments. This is on response to "Tanzia" comments. I have 3 memberships in Boise. I live at one end of town, work on the other and spend the rest of my time in Nampa. So 3 memberships fits my lifestyle. I have been a member at gyms since the 80's. And even worked at a few gyms myself and know the scams and negative things some gyms do. I have been at TVF since they opened the doors. I was a member at 24 when it was in the same building and that building I always liked. And yes the building is old. But these guys are getting the club rolling and I like it! I see the owner painting, cleaning and the whole nine. Tell me what other gym here in Boise you see the owner cleaning and painting and even bothering to speak with members and not hiding behind the 2 way glass.
As far as TVF being bad business and" not allowing a cancellation membership and refund training" comment. Are you ridiculous? I am not a rocket scientist and have a been a member at gyms for 20+ years and do not know of anyone getting refunded for unused training sessions. I can't return my jug of milk 1/2 empty to the store and get the difference back. When I signed up I was told it was a 12 month contract and I am bound to it. And I was also told it would be month to month after the 12 months. And everything happened accordingly. So I find it hard to believe that were unruly to you. I am now a month to month active member and can cancel whenever I want. I am happy with that gym. They are just trying to make a living like any other business. Tanzia, whom ever you may be. If you are so sour about that gym or any gym in general. You went there by choice. And hopefully if and when you do join another gym. Read your membership form and ask needed questions like any other person in this world does before giving personal information away and signing documents. And make sure everything is "on paper" and get copies and understand
of the terms before you sign up at a gym. Or workout at home.
Amazing Gym, Amazing Price!
People leaving negative reviews crack me up! First off, this is the first gym that I have paid the LEAST to join, and gotten the MOST out of. It has everything I need to get my workout on, and a great martial arts area. The owners and staff are down to earth, and quick to resolve any issue I have ever had (as small as it was) so I am quite frankly sick to my stomach reading some of the negative reviews so here's mine... I love that my daughter can do Karate while I get in my time working out. Yeah, the gym wasn't in great condition when I joined over a year ago, but they have had their hands full remodeling (HUGE building), and now, it looks amazing. Seriously, what is there to complain about? If it was that bad, it wouldn't be so hard to find a place to park at night:) Just read what you sign. BTW I was a front desk manager at a gym in Cali back in my younger days and people always wanted to bad mouth the gym when they wanted out of their contract, so just make sure you read and retain what you sign. It is a contract! On a happier note, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place, and so does my little girl, and my friends who couldn't pass up this place too!
Simply the best smoke shop in town. Love this place!!!
Watch out for things posted by Debra McSparrin who pretends to be acting in best interest of the former members of Parkcenter Fitness. She in fact is related to Jim Rumsey (check out the name of her children on Facebook -- both have the last name of Rumsey). The lies and deception run deep at this club. Just a matter of time now before the AG starts subponeaing people for testimony. After that indictments.
BEWARE former parkcenter fitness customers! If you had your credit card charged for the monthly fees Check your statements from now on.The billing Company A.S.F. International is a bunch of scam artists. I had billing problems that started in Feb. of 2010. and I had to file a complaint with the B.B.B. and the Idaho attorney general. If you get a charge from them call your credit card company and file for a fraudulent charge. A.S.F. is very very difficult to deal with.
I went there for lunch on December 22, 2010. The ambience was what you'd expect from a French place catering to upper middle class people, what with the rustic look, thin hipster girl service staff, and wine rack in the back room. The food was almost uniformly disappointing. French onion soup was cold. This was so unacceptable that we had to send it back-- and we NEVER do this. Initially someone had blowtorched my wife's soup to achieve the nice crusty look. That's good, but I wasn't so lucky with my serving, and once both orders came back from their suntan in the microwave the soup was still bland and the cheese gloppy. The frites were pathetically undercooked-- nicely crusty on the outside, but rare on the inside-- and my wife's salad was unremarkable, just some leaves with a tasteless dressing. My son had a ham/cheese croissant that was competently prepared (the croissant was, I must say, pretty darn good), but the honeydew/canteloupe that came with it had clearly been sliced at least a day prior and left in the fridge. I do not want to judge my other son's fish sandwich because he wanted it totally plain, but I will say that the brioche on which it was served was pretty good. For $34 (2 adults, 2 kids, no drinks) I was not happy and would call Le Cafe de Paris long on style and short on substance. Sorry guys, but I just couldn't let this sit.
Uum Gold's is a franchise. Which means that each market is owned and operated by someone completely different then the next. Just because the name on the bldg says Gold's doesn't mean that they won't go out of business. Look at 24 Hour Fitness, they are a much bigger company then Gold's and they closed 3 locations here in Boise a few years ago. Balley's also bigger then Gold's closed 40% of their locations in the US just a few years ago as well. The Gold's here is owned and operated by Steve Appleton from Micron. He's a smart guy and trust me if they start losing money he will close them just as other bigger more profitable companies did.
I, too, have been a member of Gold's Gym for over 7 years, and although a bit more expensive, definitely worth it. Helpful front desk staff, and friendly, knowledgable trainers. No gym is ever perfect, but overall I get what I need from Gold's.
Bummer about Parkcenter Fitness.....
I joined Gold's for the fact that i can't stomach the idea of ANOTHER gym taking my money and running. in this recession any business has the potential to go out of business. so why not trust someone who has been a fitness authority since 1965? I know that at least i won't get screwed over by Gold's. A little more expencive but i have always believed that you get what you paid for. Jim can attest to that
I hadn't been to the gym for months. Decided to go today and found the place empty with sign on the door. I called my bank about my debit charge. They were very helpful and told me to call the customer service number on the back of my debit card. I called that number to have the debit transaction disputed. They filed a claim and gave me the phone number for ASF Health Club 1-800-525-8967 to make sure there would not be future charges. I called ASF Health Club and the person was aware of Parkcenter Fitness closing and said that future billing has stopped.
I had a month to month contract, so I'm not sure how other contracts will be handled. Just thought I'd share my investigation.
