Re: “Idaho Athletic Club

I Went in on August 22 to freeze my account for $10. However, I was charged the full membership monthly amount. When I was called to dispute the transaction 'Scotty' states I was wrong and accused me of being under the influence of alcohol. I was on my day off and upset over the entire dispute. Nothing was resolved and I was denied to speak to a supervisor or manager. I was also charged over draft fees by my bank due to the over charge in monthly rates. I tried to explain that my over due charges were incorrect and was hung up on. I do not feel that I should have been charged the extra fees due to the negligence on IAC's part. However, my credit has been ruined and I have yet to speak to a manager to resolve the issues which were negligent on their end. After all, I froze my account and was charged additional fees from IAC and my bank. I was treated with the utmost disrespect and completely humiliated. I will never consider IAC as an option again!

Re: “Idaho Athletic Club

PLEASE BE ADVISED, upon cancellation of your membership Idaho Athletic could be STEALING YOUR MONEY. Example: You cancel your membership on July 22nd so your cancel date is August 22nd, everything fine so far, here comes the theft: your billing cycle is the 13th of each month so a charge is being made on August 13th for membership dues through September 13th but you will no longer be a member as of August 22nd. So you would think there would be a pro-ration and you would get your unused dues back but this is not the case.. Idaho Athletic STEALS the remaining unused dues and keeps that for themselves. Multiply that by the 100's or 1000's of cancellations over the past years and Idaho Athletic has no less than been racketing money. *I've been trying since July 18th to get a response to this concern and I was promised over and over again for a call back from Corporate, never received 1 call back from them. I've called them 4 times just to confirm my account has been cancelled and inquire about pro rated funds. At this point I still have not received a single call back or an answer.

Re: “FarWest Garden Center

We spent $35K on a backyard project and they made our water feature the highest elevation causing a flooded patio during rain, stamped and colored concrete patio is cracking with several spots where color has come off (after just a few months), water feature is very much not how we wanted or had asked for, pump failed and had to be replaced just weeks after installing, plants we wanted (and some even tagged) were declined and not used, sprinklers weren't set up right with plants dying, and overall feel like we weren't listened to with the designer putting in their backyard vision instead of ours. For example, I specifically asked multiple times an algae killer be installed and it too was declined. Afterwards the developer stated we'll need to add something to prevent algae growth. Really?? We now add a chemical algae killer weekly. (VERY upset about that since if they had just listened then our water wouldn't be so dirty-looking all the time.) We will have a different company come out to "fix" our backyard as we do not want these people returning and make things worse. I would not recommend them at all to do your landscaping.

Re: “Mimi Marie Boutique

Everything seemed to be fine when I first started to consign, but then they changed! I agree with all the others. They keep terrible records, are rude when you inquire about your account AND they never, ever answer the phone. I found it to be extremely frustrating consigning there as I live far from the store and had to go in person every time I wanted to find out anything!! The retail end is very expensive and you CAN find most of those labels online and, very often, on sale.

Re: “Time Zone Toys-Meridian

Found a great toy marked with a great price, by them, just to find out that they would not honor this low price. They removed the sticker while I was there and quoted me a price $30 higher than the marked price. This is not the way to do business.

Re: “Idaho Athletic Club

Their cancellation policy is a JOKE, beware. They require you to pay them an additional month pass the date you cancel. Will never give them another dime, will drive to any club but theirs. Shame.

Re: “Bikes 2 Boards

I found the customer service here unhelpful and unpleasant. My money is on the Boise Bike Project or pretty much anywhere but here.

Re: “Time Zone Toys

Neat toys, unbelievably rude employees and owner! The owner got my # from his caller ID and will not stop calling and harassing me! Unreal. I will never give this store a dime ane do not recommend this store! You can get much better prices on ebay and you don't have to deal with unwanted calls from Dave!

Re: “MacLife

Apple had a service announcement regarding failure of the 3 terabit hard-drives, of which my computer was one. They contracted with MacLife out of Boise who sent a technician named "Russel" up to replace the drive. When I quested him about losing my data he informed me that I shouldn't have any concerns as I have "Time Machine" with automatic back-up to an external hard-drive. Upon completion of the installation he told me that he had started the back-up process and due to the size of the data it would take "4-6 hours to complete." I had errands to run and when I came home before my softball game at 6:45 pm the computer said there was still (paraphrased) "1 hour and 20 minutes to completion." When I can back from the game at 9:20 pm the "back up" had finished and there was NO data backed up and my computer was basically a clean boot as seen with brand new computers!!

Re: “Idaho Athletic Club

I fulfilled my one year contract with no late payment. Then I get a call tonight from corporate about how I owe them the last 5 month payments because they were unable to charge and it was just a courtesy call and was going to collections tomorrow. I did not sign up willingly for automatic renewal on a month to month basis and the employee was extremely rude and would not forward me to someone who could actually answer my questions. When I signed my contract the person talking me through filling it out explained to me the month to month payments block where I write in the total amount that is charge to my debit card where I sign and initial but did NOT explain to me that this will not be the monthly payments I make for the year but AFTER my year is up! I will talk everyone I know from ever stepping foot into a company who doesn't treat their members like people. This is not worth the stress I am not having to deal with!

Re: “Axiom Fitness Center-Fairview

I agree with Robert1974....I have always been iffy about reviews on line, but from my first hand account with Axiom, Robert1974 hit it on the button, i think axiom lost their way and that can only come down to the corporate managers or whatever you call them. Bad staff, bad service is a result the leaders in the company. After my bad experience I requested to speak to corporate management and was told it was a lady and another guy, (cant remember names) and I got the hide and go seek treatment with those two, which was what I figured what happened. I recommend what Robert1974 says, go elsewhere, Axiom is all about themselves and your hard earned money. Don't waste your money. My rating would have been "0" stars if you could have that option.

Re: “Axiom Fitness Center-Fairview

They will keep charging your card even after you cancel, they treat you like crap when you do want to cancel, the managers are all over confident and treat you like your just another fly on the wall. I had the opportunity to get close to a lot of the staff over the years and watched them come and go like the days paper, it is quite obvious they want "sales" and "sales" and want the staff to juice every penny out of each member or they will lose their jobs. The gyms are nice, but the atmosphere and negative attitudes with upper management ruins the vibe. They do not care about their staff and that turns into to bad customer service from them because everyone hates their jobs. Axiom has gotten greedy and turned into a "corporate" gym and only want your money or get out! My recommendation is to stay away from this gym, there are better local gyms in town to be where they actually care about their members, do not give them your card number. You will regret it!

Re: “Mimi Marie Boutique

DITTO DITTO Agree..do not take any consignment clothes to this "Less than Honest Boutique"....I suggest you donate to a good cause. WHY? because it will disappear and the excuse is "well, I never saw it" I will check on it and call you back and don't bother calling the store because they "NEVER" answer their phone. If you follow up with questions...Lisa gets very hostile and defensive...All those brands can be purchase online ..with a return policy in tack should be unhappy with your purchase.

Re: “Johnny's Fit Club-East Boise

Stay away from this place! They advertise as a $10/month gym, but that doesn't include the insane sign up fee, November maintenance fee, and cancellation charge. I signed up in October, had my work transfer me to Salt Lake City a few weeks later, and now paying about a HUNDRED BUCKS for TWO MONTHS of membership!!

I talked to the manager and he just said that was too bad. Talk about AWFUL customer service!

Re: “Johnny's Fit Club-East Boise

As a small business who relies on word of mouth, I would expect to receive much better customer service. Granted not all of the employees are rude, however, Andy, one of the business partners and manager, has been extremely rude to me on a few occasions now. So much so that I will no longer be doing business with this company and I don't recommend anyone else to either. Unless that is, you wish to be belittled and lied to. And when asked to speak to the owner of the company I was flat out refused the opportunity on several occasions and told several other times that they would have him call me, however, that has never happened.

Take my advice, do not go there.

Re: “Idaho Athletic Club

The facilities are good, the employees are cool, the management is a notch below used car salesman. I signed a month to month contract at the State St location and was told the printer was down and the contract would be emailed me. Hindsight being 20/20 I really should know better! I just didn't think a local family owned gym would be so predatory and immoral, specially for small town Idaho. Never was emailed the contract, 3 months later I went in to cancel the contract and was told I had a 1 year commitment and the penalty to cancel was $250. I asked if I could talk to the manager that I signed the contract with and was told he was no longer with the company. Later on I asked if I could reduce the family membership from 3 to just 2 since my daughter was moving to attend college, was told they would review and get back to me. Never heard back and everytime I asked, I was told there was no record of the request, and again they would check and blah blah blah. Now this is mostly my fault I know when signing any contract you pay attention to the details you get copies of everything, I fully accept my financial liability and a lesson learned.
Remember this Idaho Atheletic Club, this is still small town Idaho where word of mouth is your greatest marketing tool, your reputation is horrible. Read the reviews all over the internet. There is a reason the YMCA, and Axiom are packed and your gyms are ghost towns. I will at every opportunity tell any one with ears that your facilities are to be avoided and never trusted. It was an expensive lesson for me and my 2 kids, I only hope to someday read that karma has caught up to those in charge. Can’t imagine how manipulating people for such small gains could be worth this much bad publicity. Maybe your management should go into politics, that is where this type of immorality thrives!

Re: “Idaho Athletic Club

If there is any other option for you to choose, choose it! This is a family run business by a family that should have never been in business for more than one day! They treat every employee they have like an in-disposable temp and they do that because they don't care about people other than themselves even if you are making them money you are replaceable tomorrow. They feel the same way about their customers they feel like there is so much business out there that they don't need to treat people like human beings. Seriously go anywhere else!
