Good pawn shop, but check out the newest local pawn shop in the valley. www.samslockerboise.com
It's O.K. except early in the morning - 2 to 5 AM BEWARE!! In the summer drunks throw-up all over the sidewalk. One of the clerks is a well known short change artist and another one is so sour and insulting that she hides her identity on the receipt and makes people feel like their in a dungeon. Also the deli gets kind of stinky at times.
This is a pretty nice shop in boise idaho! Peggy is pretty cool!
Watch out for these guys however.
This is actually a review of Java as a whole, as they also have a 'sweet' location in Hyde Park in the North End of Boise as well, which is nicer in my opinion, even though the 6th St. building is also very good (as far as a physical site). The coffee IS good, but still nobody can top the 'FlyingM' in this category and their 'unbeatable' baked goods. Also, one may want to give 'Java' a try if/when visiting Ketchum. I have found that the coffeeshop there does a MUCH better job in all facets of the game, including consistency of good tasting coffee, baked goods, other food, and ESPECIALLY service!!! My one beef with Hyde Park's location is the 'doorknob,' young, think their hip employees.
Really the nice things about Java are the space, and the people. Java occupies this glorious space with 20 foot ceilings and clerestory windows. The tables are arranged really comfortably with a long pew and couches along one wall and tables along all of the glass. The people who work there are great. They tend to be mostly students or rockers and all are friendly and intelligent. I am a black coffee drinker. I prefer a solid french roast. They don't have a french roast. They sell "blue sky" which is just adequate. Mostly I order Americanos. Their food is way overpriced and not very good. They don't offer any whole wheat pastries and they steam their eggs. It's probably healthier the way they do it so I won't complain too badly, but I prefer a nice heavy friend eggs and hash brown breakfast.. Just my taste. Java really is the best place in town to hang out. They have free wifi, but is often shared by lots of people hanging out with laptops, so don't plan on streaming any movies. Even with my complaints above, and there are some things they could do better, it is still by far my favorite place to hang out.
