Re: “Bittercreek Ale House

When I found myself in front of Bittercreek sporting my "Fuck ( later : Feck ) the CCDC" sign, two things made it impossible for me to continue posting myself there...

1. The graciousness of the management and wait staff in response to my actions, and a sense of remorse for bogging down their already hectic jobs because they had to field nigh endless questions about the "strange man with the sign"; and,

2. The incredible smells that wafted my way as they served-up delicious looking food to smiling, grateful patrons were killing me!

Re: “Ha' Penny Irish Pub and Grill

New feature on Monday nights - Open Mic - true open mic - music, comedy, poetry, etc. Excellent alternative to Pengully's. More relaxed.

Re: “Pie Hole

This may be a hole in the wall & the pizza may be a large slice of grease on your plate, but it cures whatever ales you!! Just got dumped? Let me treat you to pie hole! First date? Lets grab some pie hole & break the ice by making fun of the eclectic downtown brood. Gab time w/ gal-pals? Monch on some pizza before hitting a movie! Honestly, the simplicity of it makes it such a hot-spot. Just leave your calorie-counter at home!!

Re: “Fresh Off the Hook

+1 on the best fish and chips in town. Their clams leave something to desire and their prices are a little on the steeper side, but they are definitely on of the best seafood places in town. If my wife and I want fish, this is the first place on our list.

Re: “Studio J

Jenifer at Studio J stepped in and helped me at the last minute when my previous venue fell through for my daughter's sweet 16. She was very kind and generous to me in a desperate time. The two bathrooms were more than enough for the 50+ people we had present. The loft accomodations were great for the DJ, his crew and all the lighting. There was ample parking for the guests. Jenifer kept in close touch with me, helped me with a few glitches I ran into that had NOTHING to do with her space (bouncer etc). They were pretty accommodating throughout the process. The space has so much potential for so many different events! I recommend looking into this venue!

Re: “Bouquet

I've had good dealings with this bar. It's a classic historic setting with a beautiful bar and good sound system. I know the owner is struggling, like many other businesses in these tough times, but he's trying and with a bit of support from patrons it can return to its former stature as a great place to go in BoDo. I was there Sat. when The Decade Blues Band was playing--the place was rocking and it was free to get in and smoke free too.

Re: “Lucky 13 Pizza/The Garage

Great building and interior, you'll love the roll up, garage doors on warm spring days. Pizza's a fine pie, sandwiches need some help. Staff, while spartan are always working hard to satisfy. Nice place to bring kids for a pizza. Be sure to try a pint of Manny's at the bar.

Re: “Miss Tami's Cottage Expressions and Tea Room

This was a great girly experience! The shopping area is a great place to search out a unique gift for a hard to buy for friend. I wish it was a bit more kid friendly (although I admit it is always a challenge with a 4 year old) but we had a great time anyways.

Re: “Groove Coffee, Espresso & Wine Cafe

Nice little coffee shop. The staff is friendly and the location is comfortable. They make a nice Mexican Mocha and the kids always enjoy the hot cocoa. Nice alternative to the Tullys in Fred Meyers.

All I can say is: #5 and an AVOCADO SMOOTHIE, FTW!

Re: “Le Cafe de Paris

Le Cafe will always have a place in my heart, but the last three evenings I have been in to share a dessert, I have been incredibly disappointed with the service. The waitress (same one) has obviously been in a hurry to close early on a Saturday evening and spent the majority of her time flirting with customers or chatting with friends instead of serving us. Obviously this doesn't invalidate the entire establishment, but it has been frustrating.

Great salad bar and pizza. Go in for the lunch special buffets. All you can eat and drink bargain.

Re: “Gino's Italian Ristorante

My wife and I went there for Valentines Day (2011) with friends and had a wonderful dining experience! The food was fabulous and the atmosphere was right for a Valentines Day's evening. I would recommend Geno's to family, friends and any one looking for an Italian dining experience. Those that were looking after us were timely with food, drinks and made sure we enjoyed our meal and visit. This is not a cheap place but well worth it for the experience.

Re: “Locavore

My husband and I stop by Locavore fairly often because it is within walking distance from our house. The wait staff is always pleasant and professional. They have a fantastic selection of local beers and the food is delicious, especially the appetizers. I would give five stars if the seating area out front was a little more comfortable. Those who wish to criticize the place because not all of the foods come from local sources are missing the point; this restaurant offers a unique variety of fresh, tasty food at a reasonable price. Boise needs variety.
