Re: “Fresh Off the Hook Seafood

+1 on the best fish and chips in town. Their clams leave something to desire and their prices are a little on the steeper side, but they are definitely on of the best seafood places in town. If my wife and I want fish, this is the first place on our list.

Re: “Studio J

Jenifer at Studio J stepped in and helped me at the last minute when my previous venue fell through for my daughter's sweet 16. She was very kind and generous to me in a desperate time. The two bathrooms were more than enough for the 50+ people we had present. The loft accomodations were great for the DJ, his crew and all the lighting. There was ample parking for the guests. Jenifer kept in close touch with me, helped me with a few glitches I ran into that had NOTHING to do with her space (bouncer etc). They were pretty accommodating throughout the process. The space has so much potential for so many different events! I recommend looking into this venue!

Re: “Bouquet

I've had good dealings with this bar. It's a classic historic setting with a beautiful bar and good sound system. I know the owner is struggling, like many other businesses in these tough times, but he's trying and with a bit of support from patrons it can return to its former stature as a great place to go in BoDo. I was there Sat. when The Decade Blues Band was playing--the place was rocking and it was free to get in and smoke free too.

Re: “Lucky 13 Pizza/The Garage

Great building and interior, you'll love the roll up, garage doors on warm spring days. Pizza's a fine pie, sandwiches need some help. Staff, while spartan are always working hard to satisfy. Nice place to bring kids for a pizza. Be sure to try a pint of Manny's at the bar.

Re: “Miss Tami's Cottage Expressions and Tea Room

This was a great girly experience! The shopping area is a great place to search out a unique gift for a hard to buy for friend. I wish it was a bit more kid friendly (although I admit it is always a challenge with a 4 year old) but we had a great time anyways.

Re: “Groove Coffee, Espresso & Wine Cafe

Nice little coffee shop. The staff is friendly and the location is comfortable. They make a nice Mexican Mocha and the kids always enjoy the hot cocoa. Nice alternative to the Tullys in Fred Meyers.

Re: “Baguette Deli

All I can say is: #5 and an AVOCADO SMOOTHIE, FTW!

Re: “Le Cafe de Paris

Le Cafe will always have a place in my heart, but the last three evenings I have been in to share a dessert, I have been incredibly disappointed with the service. The waitress (same one) has obviously been in a hurry to close early on a Saturday evening and spent the majority of her time flirting with customers or chatting with friends instead of serving us. Obviously this doesn't invalidate the entire establishment, but it has been frustrating.

Re: “Gino's Italian Ristorante

My wife and I went there for Valentines Day (2011) with friends and had a wonderful dining experience! The food was fabulous and the atmosphere was right for a Valentines Day's evening. I would recommend Geno's to family, friends and any one looking for an Italian dining experience. Those that were looking after us were timely with food, drinks and made sure we enjoyed our meal and visit. This is not a cheap place but well worth it for the experience.

Re: “Locavore

My husband and I stop by Locavore fairly often because it is within walking distance from our house. The wait staff is always pleasant and professional. They have a fantastic selection of local beers and the food is delicious, especially the appetizers. I would give five stars if the seating area out front was a little more comfortable. Those who wish to criticize the place because not all of the foods come from local sources are missing the point; this restaurant offers a unique variety of fresh, tasty food at a reasonable price. Boise needs variety.

Re: “Pinnacle Sports Grill

I grew up in the Midwest and this restaurant is a welcome reprieve from the food I have been subject to at most Boise area restaurants. They may many dishes from scratch including their soups, several entries, and deserts. I love their breaded pork tenderloin and Itallian beef sandwiches—I have not had these for several years and Pinnacle made them as good as I remember them back home. The owner has been in during several of my visits and took the time to greet me and my party and made sure our experience was first rate. We have made Pinnacle a regular on our restaurant rotation.

Re: “Treasure Valley Fitness

All do respect. My response is due to this confusing comments. This is on response to "Tanzia" comments. I have 3 memberships in Boise. I live at one end of town, work on the other and spend the rest of my time in Nampa. So 3 memberships fits my lifestyle. I have been a member at gyms since the 80's. And even worked at a few gyms myself and know the scams and negative things some gyms do. I have been at TVF since they opened the doors. I was a member at 24 when it was in the same building and that building I always liked. And yes the building is old. But these guys are getting the club rolling and I like it! I see the owner painting, cleaning and the whole nine. Tell me what other gym here in Boise you see the owner cleaning and painting and even bothering to speak with members and not hiding behind the 2 way glass.
As far as TVF being bad business and" not allowing a cancellation membership and refund training" comment. Are you ridiculous? I am not a rocket scientist and have a been a member at gyms for 20+ years and do not know of anyone getting refunded for unused training sessions. I can't return my jug of milk 1/2 empty to the store and get the difference back. When I signed up I was told it was a 12 month contract and I am bound to it. And I was also told it would be month to month after the 12 months. And everything happened accordingly. So I find it hard to believe that were unruly to you. I am now a month to month active member and can cancel whenever I want. I am happy with that gym. They are just trying to make a living like any other business. Tanzia, whom ever you may be. If you are so sour about that gym or any gym in general. You went there by choice. And hopefully if and when you do join another gym. Read your membership form and ask needed questions like any other person in this world does before giving personal information away and signing documents. And make sure everything is "on paper" and get copies and understand
of the terms before you sign up at a gym. Or workout at home.
