Re: “UPDATE: Arbiter Declines Advertising from Creationist Groups, Issues Statement

Because refusing to run ads by pseudoscience snake oil salesmen is such a bad idea.

Sure, this is exactly what we would expect creationist snake oil salesmen to say.

Re: “UPDATE: Les Bois Park Announces End of Historic Horse Racing, 80 Layoffs

What is wrong with this State? every other state that has this type of gaming can see the increased revenue that comes with it. This revenue is put directly back into our state and local government. It helps with a number of programs to provide much needed services. I for one have no problem with the machines that were in the Les Bois race track. I went there often as an entertainment option to movies and dinner, ect. I found the conditions very clean and very friendly, never once did I encounter a bad experience.

Re: “"COPS" TV Show Crew Films Boise Police Department This Week

Let's see how this segment of COPS plays out lol! I have respect for those officers who hold up to their pledge but some in Boise are renegade and to give them the lime light is only going to make them put on a show.

Re: “A Sustainable Boise

Sustainable Development is an ideology, based in radical environmentalism and the belief in Global Warming, that seeks to steal freedom stealthily from unsuspecting citizens. Take the theory of Global Warming. no matter that it has technically and scientifically failed by the standards of the Scientific Method, its believers have weaponized it to compel the public into its bidding. The original hypothesis was that Co2 poured into the atmosphere will cause a greenhouse effect and warm the planet. Reality: nearly 2 decades of flatlined global temperatures, at a time when record amounts of Co2 were poured into the atmosphere. Result of experiment: The theory of Global Warming has utterly failed, if this were about true science there would be no mention of it but it's not about science, it's about control from the top and religion from the bottom. So, it follows that everything based in the bad science of Global Warming, like Sustainable Development, is fundamentally flawed and should be denied and its proponents rejected at the ballot box. Oh yeah, I forgot, Sustainable Development IS Agenda 21….here is the UN’s website that details how they are exactly the same bad thing.

Re: “UPDATE: ITD Cancels Plans to Reduce I-84 Lanes During Daytime Hours

Achd isn't closing the lanes on the I-84, ITD is. ACHD is just warning motorists that their system will be impacted by ITD's decision.

Re: “UPDATE: ITD Cancels Plans to Reduce I-84 Lanes During Daytime Hours

Here's an idea. Maybe instead of just telling us that ACHD is closing a lane on I-84, you could identify where that closure will be. Thanks for some basically useless information.

Re: “"COPS" TV Show Crew Films Boise Police Department This Week

I think if some of the "armchair quarterbacks" and extreme opinion-mongers could spend a day or two -- as I have -- just riding with the cops and seeing what they have to put up with and face each day, they might have a more accurate and charitable opinion of what it takes to police in a world that's ceased being a society of rules (as in "standards") and becoming more of a society of rights (as in, "anything goes").

Most law enforcement officers are "brutish thugs" … "deceptive" … "criminal" … and "sociopathic goons"? (Gosh, move along, folks -- there's no "moderation" left here to see, is there?)

Can you spell "slight-chip-on-the-shoulder"? Sounds like someone needs to be sentenced to a lengthy "time-out", standing over in the corner and writing, "I will be good … I will be good … I will be good"!

Re: “"COPS" TV Show Crew Films Boise Police Department This Week

and I quote ~

"When police can murder with impunity, when the courts and legislators turn a willfully blind eye, we no longer have neither justice nor liberty but are held captive in an open cage, with the threat of our very lives acting as our only restraint and shackles. The benefit of our labor carries no hope or illusions of prosperity but are only replacements for artificial and instituted debt and the whip of poverty strikes the will of more of our people than ever before. This is not Freedom! This truly, is what it means to be a slave." ~ D.B.Hall

Re: “"COPS" TV Show Crew Films Boise Police Department This Week

I think it is well past time to stop aggrandizing LEOs. Most have become brutish thugs hiding behind the badge. As someone who has dealt with the deceptive and criminal actions of LEOs, I hold them all in contempt.
America has become a police State and rather than hold the LEOs accountable for their various improprieties, they get a free ticket to violate laws, civil rights and are NOT held accountable to the same laws you or I have to face.
Programs like COPS have become a tabloid, only showing you what they want you to see, hiding the crimes of LEOs for the sake of "Ratings".

Boise still has yet to address their ineptitude to hold LEOs accountable to the law. Over two years without a replacement for an Ombudsman and no real way to punish those LEOs that commit crimes, thanks to their union and the privileges that the badge has to offer sociopathic goons.

Re: “"COPS" TV Show Crew Films Boise Police Department This Week

I wouldn't think Boise would be as fertile ground for "Cops" as some other locales the show features, like the mean streets of Cleveland or Detroit.

We had a misplaced baby stroller in the North End a few weeks ago that rattled the neighborhood … an errant jaywalker spotted near Trader Joe's … a couple of overdue reference books at Library! … a lost cat in the Foothills … but not much else.

Yes, there is crime in Boise, and it's on the rise. This comment doesn't ignore the serious situations that occur every day.

But compared to so many other places in America, we are oh, so fortunate! That's something we should give thanks for every day … along with our thanks to the Boise police. It's popular to demean the police today, and there have been some terrible incidents all around the country. That they haven't happened here is another reason to give collective thanks.

Re: “Idahoans Gather at Capitol in Support of Refugees

So glad I don't live in Idaho any longer. What a bunch of racist bigots and outright a$$holes. Also, why do American junkies deserve priority over a family just for being American? Don't like living in Boise or whatever town you live in because of these refugees? I suggest moving further out in the boonies so you can continue becoming more and more backwards and hateful alone and leave the rest of us to live in peace. Thank goodness there are still kind people standing up for the refugees like this, it's terrible that the comments are mostly filled with hateful words and negativity.

Re: “Boise State Fine Arts Building Proposed to Cut 328 Parking Spaces

Maybe in our life time taking the bus into Boise's "downtown core" at midnight might have the passenger think they are being dropped off at Time Square in New York City? Until then most people in Boise drive cars from point A to point B, buses don't run at midnight and city officials are spending millions to get streetcars to move people in the "downtown core" as opposed to getting them in and out of the downtown core to their homes.
I wonder if the parking spaces BSU is counting are attached to campus or if they are counting the parking lot on Elder street they bought, paved, landscaped and has been sitting empty for at least 2 years?
