Re: “Starbucks Ends 'Race Together' Campaign, But Effort is Not Over

“The phase-out is not a reaction to that pushback, Olson said. “Nothing is changing. It’s all part of the cadence of the timeline we originally planned.” Schultz’s note acknowledged the skeptics as an anticipated part of the outreach.”

Olson added: “We’ve ALWAYS been at war with racist East Asia. Move along, these aren’t the racist droids you’re looking for.”

Re: “Starbucks Brews Up Backlash With Debate on Race Relations

Mr. Schultz is just another out-of-touch white privileged member of the parasites at the top of the economic heap….or....he’s in touch, but has added a bit of cynical marketing sludge to the steaming pile that’s already foisted on the public.

Howard obviously is clueless about the connection between economic inequality and race ‘relations’. How many Starbucks are there in the ghettos? Is he aware of the Ghetto Latte or the Ghetto Hot Chocolate? If he is, does he think these drinks are made for fun?

Most customers buy Starbucks to show others that they are "someone who can afford luxury,” according to Professor Latte at Temple University: a man named Bryant Simon who's working on a book that promises to be the definitive American Studies take on Starbucks. Has Howard looked at his menu prices lately? Is he old enough to remember when coffee was served for free at restaurants?

What’s typical here is the hypocrisy of a businessman who deliberately talks about improving race relations while pricing out of his shops, the majority of the race he claims to want to race with.

What a Shyster!

Re: “Starbucks Brews Up Backlash With Debate on Race Relations

Please ... folks paying $5 for a cup of coffee (equal to 3 days of labor on the coffee farm) don't want to chat about race or anything else that threatens their privilege as they sip their java. #wrongvenue

Re: “Oregon Governor Signs Sweeping Voter Registration Into Law

Thatcher’s ‘concern’ that “personal information is suddenly made public” is just smoke, since the Grand Old Party has been the major obstacle to curbing the NSA’s ability to monitor and store everyone’s personal information, which is far beyond the data in the DMV website.

The law comes at a time when many other states are putting more of the onus on citizens to prove their voter eligibility. Since the 2010 midterm elections, 22 states have approved legislation tightening voter restrictions, according to a report from the Brennan Center for Justice. Thirteen of those states passed voter ID laws, requiring citizens to provide identification to prove they are eligible to vote.

Republicans have vigorously engaged in voter suppression at least since the stolen 2000 election. The ‘liberal’ corporate media, along with FOX, is still ignoring the clear evidence of a coordinated GOP effort to keep non-Republicans from voting and to steal votes wherever they can.

Republicans fail to see that gimmickry and exclusionary tactics are not the solution to their demographic problems. Republicans would do well to consider why the fact remains that when more people can vote and more people do vote, Democrats win.

Re: “Oregon Governor Signs Sweeping Voter Registration Into Law

High voter turnout helps Democrats, and nobody knows that better than Republicans. Since there is no measurable voter fraud in this country, and there never has been, Republican's only chance is to convince the public otherwise, and continue to build barriers to the ballot box with their voter suppression laws. The GOP is fighting tirelessly to associate a stigma with voting that doesn't exist.

Former governor was also a Democrat, which this article seemed to avoid stating.

Re: “McDonald's Workers Claim Hazardous Conditions

It should be clear how this is going to work out.

This should be no surprise to anyone paying attention to the ongoing agenda of the Business Class parasites, which is to eliminate collective bargaining (remember unions), as well as to roll back as many worker benefits and obligations as they possibly can in order to enrich themselves, at the expense of the workers. In other words….to create controlled wage slaves.

As soon as the Business/Stock holder Class was given the gift of high unemployment, most business parasites wasted no time in taking advantage of this, by exploiting there wage slaves to the extent the laws would allow. Laws, by the way, which were written by the Business Class.

Many of these parasites also took immediate advantage of workers having limited alternative work possibilities, by ignoring safety regulations, labor laws and common decency when managing employees.

What’s going on at this business is a symptom of the rot that has spread across the US with the systematic destruction of collective bargaining power.

Why do you think unions were created?

Why do you think the Business Class has done everything in its power to destroy unions since the 1930’s?

Re: “Detainee Traded for Bergdahl May Have Contacted Taliban

The remaining Guantanamo prisoners should be transferred to high security federal prisons in the U.S. and prosecuted under the U.S. criminal justice system. Guess which Idiot Political Party is preventing this from happening?

Re: “Most Americans See Combating Climate Change as a Moral Duty

The name of the game is control.

What better way to control masses of people than to make them feel guilty for breathing and morally responsible for a problem just by being alive. The parasitic controllers were starting to lose some of the true believers in human caused global warming due to more and more people getting wise to the con, so the oldest con in the world, religion is now being enlisted to sway any believers who aren’t either able or willing to use critical thinking to uncover the con. For the Catholics it has gone from original sin to the original sin of breathing.

All one has to do to see the hoax for what it is, is to question why the alarmists went from focusing public awareness on "global warming" to focusing on "climate change." They clearly assumed that they can’t lose with “climate change”, since our climate is in a state of constant flux, so they could even blame man made CO2 for global cooling. Brilliant. There were/are hundreds of billions of dollars at stake, so this was an obvious way to keep the gravy train rolling.

Follow the money.

Re: “Megadrought Threatens Southwest, Plains For Decades to Come

According to tree ring data the 20th century was the wettest western century during the past 2 thousand years. So yes, the western U.S. has seen and will see again severe drought exceedingly drier than the 20th century. But atmospheric CO2 doesn't correlate to western drought cycles but the PDO ((Pacific Decadal Oscillation)) does. Which means that wasting time and money to reduce fossil fuel use is futile.

Re: “Pro-Gay Marriage Signals Seen in U.S. Supreme Court Action

I find it sad that Judge Thomas, a man whose own marriage would not have been allowed a mere 50 years ago had it not been for anti-miscegenation laws being ruled unconstitutional, is so vehemently against allowing men and women the freedom to marry who they love.
