anyone know if anyone has started a petition for this?
This is sick beyond words. How in the world can this be allowed especially when it concerns children. This has to be stopped. Wolves are so important to the environment. Please don't allow this. Please.
Everything that ya all are saying is judgemental bull crap there is not one comment that has had anyone stop and think maybe there is an excess amount and its once a year for 5 years! the amount that are their could be going onto peoples land killing their livestock which is beef, chickens or whatever and slaughter them like I said there is obviously a reason this is happening and it don't mean that they are rednecks or anything else I am pretty sure that not one of your doors are completely clean maybe ya'all should get details before running ya'alls mouths!
I can not imagine this horffying act but the money talks we cannot change this regulation of government ..
The only thing that we can do it is just raising our voice to stop slightering our wolves .
My God, Idaho becomes more and more like Nazi Germany every day. Wolf hunters are shooting people's dogs because they can't tell the difference. People's pets are being killed in traps that trap every animal in the forest beside the ones the idiot trappers really want. And now a bunch of slobbering rednecks will go into PUBLIC LANDS to kill anything that moves and as much of it calling it a "contest" and children are encouraged to come along? Has Idaho yet reached the 20th century? I've never seen a more callous, uneducated, bunch of sadistic trash than in Idaho. If I were a Jew living in Idaho I'd be scared as hell.
Boycott states that do this sort of thing and let their politicians know you are boycotting them and why.
The scumbags in Idaho are no different than ISIS. Sick barbarians.
What a disgusting bunch of people!
Is this what the state of Idaho wants to be remembered for? This is sick! This is not only something that will damage their children, but will make their residents appear to be mindless barbarians. In the future I will plan my travel to go around Idaho. I beg the real residents of this state to reconsider.
why isn't there a derby to see who can harvest the most hunters and trappers?
If, like the biology teacher at Columbia High School in Nampa, the derby killers bring their animals alive to a classroom, place them in restraining devices, snap their necks, skin them, cut them into steaks, roasts, and chops, and then cook and eat them, then I am all for this derby.
If they eat their prey, the derby killers can call their activities "harvesting," which is the term Idaho Fish and Game uses for killing wild fish and mammals for food.
"We're stereotyped as a bunch of Idaho rednecks out to kill as many animals as we can," he told Reuters last month."
You are a worthless idaho redneck Adler.
These hunters and trappers are terrorists. A good sportsmen is a dead one.
Accidents happen, if there are an accident while killing, say someone get shot, attacked, maybe someone will show concern in letting kids to use guns; it should not be allowed. It's like a minor league Al kaeda training camp. Then, we are concerned why kids shoot their classmates, open fire at malls when adults. There is no respect for any living creature. Those kids should be also put to work, or be send to war; if they can kill, they must be send to where is needed.
This makes me ashamed to live in Idaho. I love everything else about this state, but this makes me sick!
Fuck this shit.
I believe the stereotype fits you people perfectly.
"We're stereotyped as a bunch of Idaho rednecks out to kill as many animals as we can," he told Reuters last month.
Objecting to the truth is not a good way to argue your point.
and "skunks and weasels"?? These animals play important roles in the ecosystem and even if killing some won't have population-level effects, it still gives children (and adults) the WRONG message about wildlife and ecology. Weasels are beautiful little animals that prey on rodents, especially underground ones like voles. I raised one from a baby a year ago and it was the most amazing thing ever, super cute and smart. I can't imagine one shooting a weasel with any sort of accuracy--they are TINY! or does this mean anything in the weasel family? Badgers too? And are children 10 years old going to take part in shooting larger animals like wolves? I pity the wolf that might be killed by a 10-year-old with poor aim.
What about the sociological effects of promoting needless killing of wildlife as "sport"? What does that teach our children about how to treat living things? Animals are not just commodities to provide humans with entertainment--they SUFFER pain and fear just like humans, and in social animals, possibly even more so.
