Re: “Idaho's New Prison Scandal Escalates

More locked up and anywhere in the world. More in number and more as a % of population.

It's a BIG BIG profitable business people. From the over-grown cop departments, to city hall, to the defense lawyers, to the judges, to the jails... it's all about money. It's no different than Lockeed-Martin cheering on another regional conflict or engineering another cold-war... MONEY GRUBBING MAGGOTS!! And the stupid voters who continue to approve.

Re: “Idaho's New Prison Scandal Escalates

Seems as the people that are "hiding" information and getting into inmates personal health charts and changing them, might need to be sitting next to the inmates in their cells and see what it feels like.
Integrity should be followed and people should be treated with respect no matter where they are at.

Re: “Idaho's New Prison Scandal Escalates

Optum must be running the "mental health services" program for the IDOC. (Was being tongue in cheek and yet it looks like when one funding theft, rip-off is stopped, Idaho crooks open another spigot). No one ever seems to be responsible/return for the money supposedly paid for services not given?

LadyBen, the prison's job is to follow the rules, not your sense of how prisoners should be treated.

Re: “Idaho's New Prison Scandal Escalates

Oh boy! THIS has been a long time coming! Not to excuse the behavior of the inmates but from personal experience I KNOW that that medical department of IDOC has been failing miserably in ALL aspects!!! I cannot count how many times I found paperwork that I KNOW I filed only to find it missing later!! Very rarely did the medical department hire competent staff! Pretty bad when a Medical Assistant has more experience and knowledge then an RN! Glad I left when I did!

GID, give me a break! Regardless of what gender these people are struggling with, they broke the law and are being punished as everyone else is and do not deserve extra attention. Sexual orientation or sexual confusion is not something I CARE to acknowledge in a criminal.

Terri, as we say, thank you for telling the truth and shaming the devil. Decent folks in the Carolinas are thrilled it's finally down.

Re: “Away, Away, Away Down South in Idaho

I'm sorry if you people don't know actual true correct history. Idaho is, unfortunately a white flight state. Slavery was the number one, and only cause of the civil war. The only reason the south had for succeeding from the Union was they were told they could no longer own people, and could no longer have free labor. Also the South had no plans to free anyone, especially people they considered less than human. If you ever did any research on how these people were bought, sold and transported to our so called "free country" it should, if you were a human being, make you sick. I'm ashamed to say I'm from the u.s.a., we not only thought it was ok to own Human Beings, we also thought it was ok to almost exterminate the True Native American, the Indian. Idaho is unfortunately a very racist state. The people of Idaho like Black people only if they're good at sports. How would you like seeing the nazi symbol everyway you turned? I'm sorry but most of the people who own this flag are actually Racist people. Sorry Jamie you are a racist.

Re: “Idaho's New Prison Scandal Escalates

Good job, George Prentice! The prison scandal won't be the only scandal under Governor Otter's watch. Let's see how the Idaho Education network mess unfolds. Looks like more secret handshakes and special privilege for the friends of Butch. Crony capitalism in action. Let's see what other activities can be uncovered that involve shifting public money to private pockets.

Re: “Foodborne Fuss: The Boise Co-op Looks Ahead Following Salmonella Outbreak

Nate McIntyre is right. The co-op deserves a free pass on this one. Can someone direct me back to high school? I have a pep rally to attend.

Re: “Foodborne Fuss: The Boise Co-op Looks Ahead Following Salmonella Outbreak

On or about Wednesday, June 10, Mrs. Jessup arose from bed in the early morning hours and informed her mother she needed to be taken to the hospital. She was concerned about her well being, as well as that of her unborn child. She was transferred from the emergency department to the maternal ward, where she went through triage and received intravenous fluids for rehydration. She was discharged and advised to take Imodium for the diarrhea and Tylenol for the fever.

After returning to her parent’s home, Jessup’s symptoms worsened. Her fever rose to 102 degrees, and diarrhea continued despite medication. She had also begun having contractions, which lasted for a couple of days, and was becoming more and more distressed over the welfare of her baby. She returned to the hospital on Thursday, June 11, where this time, she was admitted and remained until Saturday, when her symptoms began to subside.

During Jessup’s hospitalization, she submitted a stool sample that tested positive for Salmonella. At a medical visit on June 26, during a check-up, she was cleared to travel, but her illness causes continued concerns about her pregnancy and the delivery of her child.

Re: “Foodborne Fuss: The Boise Co-op Looks Ahead Following Salmonella Outbreak

Ada County resident Alice Jessup has filed a lawsuit against Boise Consumer Cooperative, Inc., d/b/a Boise Co-op. Jessup, who is pregnant, is suing over a severe case of salmonella poisoning she suffered after eating food from the Boise airport earlier this month that was prepared by the Co-op. Jessup is represented by Robie G. Russell of Russell Law Offices, and William D. Marler of Marler Clark Food Safety Law Firm, LLP. Marler Clark is representing three dozen victims in the outbreak, and has previously filed three other lawsuits.

On or about June 7, 2015, Alice Jessup purchased a chicken salad sandwich at a kiosk in the Boise airport that sold sandwiches prepared by Boise Co-op. She ate the sandwich the same day. She began to experience symptoms of Salmonella poisoning the very next day, which included severe abdominal cramps and repeated bouts of diarrhea. At this point, Jessup was approximately 28 weeks pregnant.

Over the next several days, while visiting family in California, Jessup’s symptoms worsened. She continued to suffer from severe diarrhea—at its worst, occurring hourly. She also developed a slight fever and headache.

Re: “Away, Away, Away Down South in Idaho

Well, folks. We in the Carolinas had our say. We don't want the Confederate flag on any public property. It came down at the SC state house and nothing terrible happened. Y'all in Idaho can settle down now.

Re: “Foodborne Fuss: The Boise Co-op Looks Ahead Following Salmonella Outbreak

Vince, did you deliberately plagiarize Waylon Brooks, or what? While I do agree with both of you that the Co-Op deli is overpriced on some items, there are some deals to be had as well. Having said that, it seems like this is also a problem at delis everywhere. Check other places out, they are all overpriced. A better system of weighing food products needs to be arrived at. Obviously, some food simply 'weigh more,' and then you end up paying more, and getting less for your money. Example: Kale and greens weigh virtually nothing, so you can buy a helluva lot for your $$$, making that a wise choice. Try the kale, apple, almond salad at the Co-Op - lotsa food for your money - and it's healthy/tasty!

This Repugnacant red state is the most corrupt state in the West by far, yet the not so sharp voter's think everything is just Dandy and will continue to elect corrupt blows my mind.
