Re: “Anti-Vaxx to the Max

I'm not really a fan of vaccines myself, but more-so in the sense that I think newborns are given way too many vaccines in too short amount of time. Their systems aren't as able to tolerate such a high concentration of chemicals as older kids. It's dangerous, space them out over more time. However, every parent should be able to decide what's best for their kid. You want your kid vaccinated? Go right ahead. Don't force it on other children though.

Re: “Anti-Vaxx to the Max

I realize that you're trying to be all cutsey with the rhyming title.

But it truly takes a special, rigid kind of fanaticism to lump in Carson--a pediatric neurosurgeon who actively vaccinates children with an outspoken wish to abolish non-medical vaccine exemptions--with those who are "anti-vax to the max."

I also know that where vaccine uptake rates are steadily rising in Idaho, by this article's own admission, that the state doesn't really fit the "anti-vax" bill either. Simply missing as much as one dose of one vaccine qualifies for a philosophical exemption in Idaho, and numerous parents vaccinate their children on delayed and selective schedules. So it is disingenuous for Dana Williams refer to children with exemptions as "unvaccinated” without providing a necessary break-down of the data.

Finally, the very real horrors of polio and the wonders of the IPV vaccine, both valid in my mind, should not be wielded to emotionally manipulate parents into full schedule compliance, including vaccinating their newborns and kindergartners for Hep B.

There are many ways to discuss vaccines, but the black-and-white thinking from this article, public health officials, and the comments is doing responsible parents no favors.

Accusations of corporatism? Check.
Shilling for 'big pharma?' Check.
Grandi? Check.
Hitler? Check.
Claims of lying and/or bullying? Check.
Vaccination = rape? Check.

It's pseudoscience bingo!

Seriously, I'm convinced that vaccines are a victim of their own success - they work so well that we forgot how bad the diseases they prevent are.

Re ChristyAnn's post:

I'm confident that the pro-vaxxers have no intention of resting until ALL children and adults are forced to received EVERY vaccine the pro-vaxxers want to force on them. The intolerance, the bullying, and the lying of the pro-vaxxers caught my attention long before I learned that the pro-vaxxers have no science supporting their position.

Yes, when vaccination is forced on those who don't want it--when something is forced into another's body, or into the bodies of their children, against their will--that IS rape. People like Rick Perry are truly reprehensible.

During the congressional investigation of vaccine safety ten-plus years ago, testimony was submitted pointing out that mandatory vaccination is a violation of the Nuremberg Code. Think the Nazi threat is gone? Better think again.

"The Refusers," the pro-freedom band with great song lyrics about vaccination, has one entitled, "Get Your Mandates Out of My Body." They're worth checking out.

Anti vaxxers, chem trail loonies, and global warming denialists, the unholy trinity of dipshittery. I wish we could drop them all in the ocean.

Re: “Anti-Vaxx to the Max

Logic dictates if vaccines worked as touted, the vaccinated have nothing to fear of the unvaccinated. The flipside is, (scientifically factual) that the vaccinated can and do shed virus for weeks, even months post vaccination, hence putting others, (immune compromised) at serious risk.

You can keep the unvaccinated out of public schools, but you will find them in church, grocery stores, fast-food play areas, elevators, etc. So if you question the degree of protection of your child's vaccines, you would do well to keep them safe at home.

If vacines were safe and effective they would sell themselves. No need for mandates! As well, protection from liability for the manufacturers and those administering the shots would be a non issue.

Vaccination has been referred to as a type of rape. Makes perfect sense to me!

Do your research diligently! Keep an open and inquiring mind. There are updates out there! This is about your health and life, and that of your precious loved ones.

Read the serum package inserts. Straight from the horse's mouth!

Re: “Anti-Vaxx to the Max

The anti-vaccination movement started in the late 1700s with resistance to compulsory vaccination in the UK. Andrew Wakefield's article in 1998 was very much a late-comer with peer-reviewed articles linking vaccination to autism since the early 1900s - well before there was a word for this spectrum and it was referred to as post-vaccinal encephalitis.

Since no vaccine can convey lifelong immunity nor can it stop fully-vaccinated individuals from either contracting or spreading the diseases they are vaccinated against, it is foolish to say that people have to be vaccinated to eradicate diseases.

To quote Mahatma Ghandi:

Vaccination is a barbarous practice and one of the most fatal of all the delusions current in our time.

Conscientious objectors to vaccination should stand alone, if need be, against the whole world, in defense of their conviction.

Re: “Anti-Vaxx to the Max

Before George Prentice's hatchet job on Vaccination Liberation, I was warning that BW is NOT an "alternative" publication but is as "corporate" as the Statesman.

Research shows that a year ago senior CDC researcher Dr. Wm. Thompson became whistleblower re a CDC research project showing Merck's MMR vaccine increased the risk of autism in black boys by 300%. He and his colleagues were forced to lie about this by their bosses--including CDC Director Dr. Julie Gerberding who, according to Reuters, left CDC for a job at Merck as head of their $5 billion vaccine division.

Robert Kennedy, Jr., has been vocal regarding the news media's censorship of this, plus of the two Merck scientists-turned-whisteblowers charging fraud at Merck re the effectiveness of the MMR vaccine. That case is in the courts.

In one of his books, Nobel laureate Linus Pauling wrote that in 1935 Dr. Claus Jungblut, Columbia University, found that high doses of vitamin C "inactivates poliomyelitis virus and destroys its power of causing paralysis...." Plus, vitamin C works against "all bacterial and viral diseases... ."

Vaccination is one of the greatest frauds ever foisted on the public--NOTHING to do with science; EVERYTHING to do with $$$$$$$.

Re: “Anti-Vaxx to the Max

If you actually read about the polio vaccine being the leading cause, it is a type of vaccine only used in third world countries, anymore. Most developed countries moved away from it in 2000.

Vaccines are not perfect, by any means. But people forget that Iron Lungs used to be an industry that was killed off due to vaccination. It is easy to demonize vaccines when, we as a species, have the "it could never happen to me" brain block when it comes to these illnesses.

I have to agree with the posts here. I remember polio and other kiddie diseases of the past. Avoiding vaccines is absolutely foolish.

Any child not current on their vaccinations should not be allowed in public school. They should be home-schooled to protect themselves from exposure and to protect the other children.

Re: “A Sustainable Boise

Sustainable Development is an ideology, based in radical environmentalism and the belief in Global Warming, that seeks to steal freedom stealthily from unsuspecting citizens. Take the theory of Global Warming. no matter that it has technically and scientifically failed by the standards of the Scientific Method, its believers have weaponized it to compel the public into its bidding. The original hypothesis was that Co2 poured into the atmosphere will cause a greenhouse effect and warm the planet. Reality: nearly 2 decades of flatlined global temperatures, at a time when record amounts of Co2 were poured into the atmosphere. Result of experiment: The theory of Global Warming has utterly failed, if this were about true science there would be no mention of it but it's not about science, it's about control from the top and religion from the bottom. So, it follows that everything based in the bad science of Global Warming, like Sustainable Development, is fundamentally flawed and should be denied and its proponents rejected at the ballot box. Oh yeah, I forgot, Sustainable Development IS Agenda 21….here is the UN’s website that details how they are exactly the same bad thing.

Re: “Welcome to Cooper Court, Boise's Growing Tent City of Homeless

I was near the Grove , and there was a familiar looking individual sitting on the bench with a sign , I didn't r recognize who it was, but then I saw the resident homeless individual (his truff) (its true), he picked this guy up and told him to get off his corner and that little guy when I saw his face was none other than my next door neighbor who was NOT homeless, receives a check from the government,...IS NOT STARVING , he has meal on wheels..The point here is that when you take some of them some of these individuals and House them in neighborhoods, they don't leave behind their old habits and their old ways of behaving and often brings danger in your environment.
