I just love all of your "Wake-up Calls to America, the not always so beautiful!" Keep it coming!
Intolerance of intolerance isn't hypocrisy there, numb nuts.
David, stop. Just stop. Bill Maher doesn't speak for all liberals just as Rush doesn't speak for all conservatives. I happen to find Maher hilarious and a welcome antidote to the religious fundamentalist whack-jobs on the Right. Bill Maher is first and foremost a comedian, so if you don't find him funny, that's one thing, but stop making these absurd pronouncements of hate towards a man who you don't really know and his show that you've probably never watched.
I have been following Bill Maher for years and I don't think I have ever heard him utter anything out of hatred as David claims. He considers himself to be a well informed individual and is trying to hold society to that same standard. Those who don't meet that standard level end up being targets of his jokes. Like George Carlin, Bill's entire stand up is well put together rhetoric designed to make people think which is something that is happening less and less in this country.
Who ever said we love everyone and how exactly are we not to hate things that premote intollerance and inequality? What are you even talking about? Do you know what a strawman argument is? You should because you constructed one.
David, there is a marked difference between making fun of a group through a comedic venue and legislating to persecute a group.
David - disagreeing with or having zero respect for something or someone is not hate. Also, using CAPITAL letters to make your POINT is kind of played out.
The only time HATE is mentioned in this article is to describe how conservatives view him. He doesn't have a lot of hate, he is as annoyed as the rest of America by the twisting and manipulation of facts--on both sides. Watch his show--you might appreciate the conversation. Or you might not, but at least you'd be able to see what he's actually all about. Oh and I can CAPITALIZE random WORDS, too. SEE!
He's a comedian, an entertainer just Like Rush, Hannity and Coulter. Get over it David.
B.M. seems to HATE more than anyone I have heard of. I thought the so called LEFT was the one group that did not HATE anything and or anyone. I thought the LEFT folks were the OPEN MINDED, accept everyone, embrace everyone, live and let live group. Folks on the LEFT, IF this is your true belief system and you are not just being hypocrites or giving LIP-SERVICE then how can you embrace this man and ANYTHING he has to say? Can you say intolerant?
The Archeri wasn't too dark, it was too convulted and stupid. It was hard to not to burst out laughing at how vacuous the play was. The Empty boat is EMPTY.
I was so surprised he said 'shit' in his Mr. Universe show!
Sarah Ruhl is a garbage playwright.
What happens in Boise stays in Boise..... Let's see, didn't I hear that somewhere else?
This is not a good picture.
The Big Bad-Ass Belly Dance Show on Feb. 4 was breath-takingly exciting, act after act. Cecilia Rinn is a phenomenon that Boise should appreciate a whole lot more. One of the friends I went with said, "I had no idea there was this much talent in Boise."
Amber Klontz, calling Belly Dance an "excercise/art form" is dismissive and rude, I am sure you didn't write it as an intentional slight. So I ask you to consider this: You wouldn't refer to Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap, or even Hip Hop dance as an "exercise/art form". Belly Dance is a truly an ancient art form and its history pre-dates all of the other art forms mentioned. The women that seriously study Belly Dance, like the performers at the Big Bad Ass Belly Dance Show, have dedicated themselves to excelling in a HIGHLY skilled art form. These women train just as intensely as any prima ballerina. There is a WORLD of difference between Belly Dance and dance excerise classes like Jazzercise and Zumba.
Minerva Jayne is an amazing drag queen.
Miss Bobbi Pins, Lady Bomb DeLuxe & Stella Sin are all amazing Burlesque dancers... There is an error either with the punctuation in this article or the fact checking.
Regardless, it's for an amazing cause and the press is well appreciated!
I on the other hand thought it was great acting, great stage and sound effects. The story was a bit strange but you have to understand that it was a psych thriller so it would be crazy. Myself and a host of others will definately be at the next performance of what ever this group puts together. Highly recommend it expecially if you like horror, strange stories.
