Re: “Daniel Stanaway

Nice article about the work being done to overcome the neglected external costs to the environment which were not figured into the botton line by companies harvesting the nations resources. Future generations can only benefit from the restoration of contaminated waters. In the future, the cost to keep water clean while harvesting our nations resources must be a consideration.

Re: “Randy Stapilus

this is off topic and a question, not a comment. Some 60 years ago a piece of land
near Buhl Idaho sunk overnight, if anyone who reads this and knows the details I'd
appreciate an email, telling how big a piece of land sunk and how deep it went.

Re: “Rev. Mark Kiyimba

To the commentor above, I don't know to what you refer when you say "They started massive recruitment of school boys and girls...and people could not look on things going the wrong way." I think you are being sold some very bad information.

Re: “Rev. Mark Kiyimba

Huh....Rev. Mark Kiyimba...have never had the name, even i don't know his church.

Rev Mark says "Absolutely. Uganda has had a gay population for many, many years. There was never any real serious hostility toward gays until last year." I agree with Mark...till last year that their vices became a problem to the Ugandan community. They started massive recruitment of school boys and girls...and people could not look on things going the wrong way. A bill was introduced in parliament , particularly to protect children and families.

Re: “Arthur Hart

Happy Halloween, I am the Secretary/Treasurer for the Placerville Historical Preservation Commission. I was provided by your name and told that you might be of help to me. I am looking for information on all the communities that were in the surrounding area during the time of the gold rush. I was also told of some graves of children that were at Norweigen Flats. Do you have information on this? I am interested in any and all of the books that you have written . I belive they would be a great collection for the museum.. Let me know.

Re: “Kate Kelly

Kate was an AWESOME legislator and a downright nice person. I was fortunate to get to know her in the Senate and on the Judiciary and Rules Committee. She will be missed, but hopefully she will be able to help others follow in her footsteps.

Re: “Dr. Geoff Williams

Dr.Geoff Williams. Me gustaria alguna vez invitarlo a mi pais.

Re: “Drag Queen to Soldier

I'm a drag queen who waves an American flag and makes patriotic videos. This offers an interesting perspective on the DADT. I know so many wimpy heterosexuals without a pair if you catch my drift, its silly not to allow gays to be themselves. Who's going to make sure it HURTS the enemy??? Who's angry to begin with? Let us AT the darn enemy!! I'll jam a high heel into Bin Laden's forehead! A pink one!

Re: “Drag Queen to Soldier

I can offer a slightly different side to this story. I am a DADT soldier as well. My experiences have varied from losing my relationship to being threatened by my NCO's if I don't play their game. This individual was lucky to have such a mellow or mild experience.

Re: “AlejAndro Anastasio

Alejandro is one of those people who genuinely cares about being a good person and doing well by life. I'm so glad to see this write-up. He is an old soul, but would be the first to admit that he still has much to learn and do in this lifetime.
Plus, it must be known, he plays a mean didjeridoo.

Re: “Patty Nelson

Nice interview! It's good to hear from someone that has visited both beaches and resorts. I visit both, and it's important to have links between beach nudists and resort nudists. Folks at resorts tend to be older, but they keep nudist values intact, and AANR has a long history of protecting everyone's right to go naked at beaches as well as resorts.
I also visit Sauvie Island near Portland, and also the beach at Rooster Rock State Park, where AANR works with police and park rangers to enforce indecency laws that keep the beach safe for all. Our beach user group, Rooster-Sauvie Volunteers hosts fun events to build community and a family-friendly atmosphere. You can email us at for more information.

Re: “Brendan Smythe

Nate and Brendan: fantastically said. I really enjoyed this piece. Basically, for both liberals and conservatives, we want freedom, fulfillment, happiness, choice... more government takes that away.

Re: “Brendan Smythe

Your title is wrong. all his answers come stait out of the "Enlightenment" era. When the heck is the pre-enlightenment? This country was founded from enlightenment thinkers. look up your history Nate.

A good one to read as well is "Vision of the Anointed" by Dr. Thomas Sowell.

Re: “Brendan Smythe

humm, interesting piece. Good job Nathaniel. I think it shows the divide between the hearts of the Left and the Tea Partiers is not so far. Mostly, the Corporations and Goverment in bed together.

Re: “Renee Montagne

I was born and raised here and say Boise either way, as many natives do. My great great grandparents arrived on the Oregon Trail, so its not a new or old thing. I think lately it has become something of a litmus test as to whether you are conscious of being 'from here,' but I think its BS.
