I work for the Garden City Police and the city of Garden City and yes it is a revenue source. But that is the cost of doing business. In a meeting, Chief Bensley mentioned that he planned to send officers to the Revolution Center, for every event, because we are able to bill that establishment between $1,000 and $2,000 per event for the police presence. He said "Even if it is a room full of old poeple, we need the revenue". And it keeps the patrons safe. So it is a win win for everyone.
Hi, Mike from Hummingbird Of Death here. I feel compelled to point out that we didn't actually make our new LP available for download. (Wouldn't want to sabotage the investment Deep Six Records made in putting our record out!) But you can stream the album at www.soundcloud.com/hummerofdoom/sets/hod-skullvalanche. Thanks for the shout-out!
If anyone's interested in attending our record release show December 28, but doesn't know the location, feel free to email us! firstname.lastname@example.org
There is of course an obvious typo in my last comment: "The Slammer" should be "The Shredder."
The Shredder has stated that it is not the Hammerfest venue, see:
However, it still interesting that Jeremie Kaufman has publicly "out-ed" himself as a local Hammerskin organizer.
On the Hammerfest Facebook event page, Idaho Hammerskin activist "Idaho Taterskin" (AKA Jeremie Kaufman, owner of Valhallas Gate Tattoo in Nampa, ID) has stated that the venue for the event is The Slammer in downtown Boise:
The venue information is currently unconfirmed beyond the Facebook post, and may be a misdirection attempt by the Hammerskins. It will be interesting to see what that venue says. Even if the venue given is a disinformation attempt by the Hammerskins, it is still useful information to know what local Hammerskin is taking point on the festival organizing.
Let's hope Avril breaks up Nickelback! http://ow.ly/dh2Fx
Thank you mr. gross. Saw you at the show last night, didn't introduce myself because i'm a shy one...plus i like the music to speak for itself... but yeah, thanks.
Thanks for the nod to "Atypical Tuesday" however, there is a door charge of $1 which goes to the bands (additional donations accepted for bands) and gets you the super mixed bill of music AND 2 for 1 shots and canned beer.
Too bad an article about a great festival had to be plagued with plaque from Twilegar. He should not be allowed to even run his own two feet no less a music venue!
Old Death Whisper put on an amazing show once again. Local treat always a good time! Thanks!
Who is American Revolution Vodka? What is it made from? or do they just rectify/rebottle Grain Neutral Spirits they buy in bulk?
Garden City once had a thriving club scene but the police just considered it a revenue source. I wonder how the new and improved Garden City Police are going to behave.
How about some MMA or Pro Wrestling shows?
Brett plays guitar in BTS. Other than that, very cool write up!
Haha! As a musician, its great to see some no talent, image driven, producer built, cash generating crap shoots take you to the face.
Give me that same amount of money and you can piss on my grave though. I would care if people liked me either.... ahhh yes I would.
And what's a "Studpid"bowl??
Wow. Umm... Nickelback wasn't booked for the Superbowl. Nickelback was booked for the Thanksgiving Day game.
I absolutely LOVE the new Trans Atlantic Crush cd. Brings back memories of the past and matches/surpasses the quality of the present. I feel it will endure into the future. Everyone should buy a copy.
