Interesting connection. We have a short-term stay apartment in the North End of Boise that we refer to as "Ville des Arbres" -- so this story about a Paris-born chanteur performing in "La Ville des Arbres" popped up in a "Google Alert" we have set for online references to our apartment. Small world!
What time is it
I heard the pasta primavera keeps her coming back
I heard a rumor she is also doing a special evening performance on the back patio of Smokey Mountain Pizza on State Street
Muzzie-Do you remember when you were first starting out and played for dances at the Silver Bar in Clayton, ID for Walt and Ernestine Reiman? To the day he died Walt talked of the wonderful memories of those days. We always wanted to come back to one of your reunions in Challis, Id but our timing was always off and we were always too early or too late. Maybe someday I'll show up with one of our grandkids. They would love the music.
Saw these guys TWICE here in Boise!! Terrific!
Typo/research correction: correct album title is Surfer Rosa...def'ly NOT Sub Rosa.
this is the worst thing i've ever read
Indie Cindy's a good album. So so underrated.
According to Western Idaho Fair schedule, Doobie Bros. concert is Aug. 21, not 24th as posted here.
Thanks for the note, Kimberly. I misconstrued the info from her publicist, and you are correct: It's not her first Boise show, it's her first Boise show in support of her new album, "Burn Your Fire for No Witness." Thanks again! ~Amy Atkins
Actually, Angel Olsen played the Neurolux just this last year. Photos on my Instagram. :)
Great Show - HORRIBLE VENUE!! Starting with the VERY thorough body search of the men while a "cursory" peak in women's purses was the first Red Flag. For a show geared more towards Baby Boomers of the 60's what happened to tables and chairs for the older crowd ? A few tables scattered along the railings of the Bar and floor were quickly nabbed up by the "runners" at the head of the line. As for spending nearly $100 per person to sit in the narrow "Catwalk like" VIP section is Ridiculous ! After 4 hrs of standing in line plus the show my wife gave in to her numb feet and said it was time to go. I won't even go into the "Mosh Pit" Bar Area were everyone was pushing and shoving to get a drink except to say - How do you run out of beer during a show !?!?! There was a good selection of beer on tap and before the intermission almost half of the tap handles had been pulled ? If you are a Coors light or Miller Lite drinker you were in Luck ! I just want to close by saying it was my 1st time at the "Revolution Center" and between the "Puff Chested" Security guards milling around looking for Pot smokers ignoring crowd control and the limited seating to try and squeeze more people on the floor I will stick to the Knitting Factory , Morrison Center or any Downtown Bar rather than the Hyped up hot , sweaty Sardine Can called the Revolution Center with $6 12 oz. beers !
Go see Th Howlin' Bros. when they come to Boise this month. You will be thoroughly entertained.
:) <3 (y)
Actually, the show is this Saturday the 16th!
listen to the album in its entirety here: www.matthopper.com
I saw them at Mootsy's in Spokane. Don't miss this show! Actually, only one of the females screams, but she takes the head of the microphone in her mouth, and then lets go. Awesome.
Loved the concert!
Recalling that someone once said "critics are those who talk smack about those who actually have some talent".
I don't love Nickelback, but was this even necessary? Do I CARE what you think? Apparently neither do the millions who do spend their money to hear Nickelback, when we can see Mr. Gross' work for free.. I guess we get what we pay for. If you don't care for the band, then don't go to the show, but geez man, get a life. Just looking to cook up some fifteen minutes of fame for yourself by bashing your betters, and yes, it worked- but we're on to your little game.
