Re: “Public Art Projects for Boise in FY 2016: 37 Local Artists, $1.4 Million

The problem I have spending $162,000.00 for design of fire stations is that the vote last fall stated that there would be NO tax dollars used? So city politicians use an odd name "(funded through percent-for-art)" isn't it still TAX $. WHERE'S JUDY!

Re: “The Crux Is Closed, Moving to New Location

Dear Bob,
You were so kind as to allow me to hang my photography at your coffee shop. I had no idea you were closing and I cannot reach you so that I may visit and get my artwork. It's costly to create art and the photos mean a lot to me, so if you would not mind contacting me that would be great. You have my business card. It's the art hanging over the piano. I hope you open at another location soon. Thanks! Nikki R.

Re: “Mr. Cope's Cave: The Ooga-Boogas

You are going to be very surprised should you ever avail yourself of the increase in the number of main stream scientists submitting papers over on arXiv that may just render your beloved materialist-reductionist, super-hip, worldview well..wrong at least from mainstream science's emerging view.

Check out Leonard Susskind at Stanford- mainstream science by anyone's definition- who posits the reality we think that is "out there" is likely a hologram. Next check out the head of Fermi Lab and his super-collider test proving same. There are many others.

Of particular interest to us naive, totally uncool believers that God does exist look up the many quantum mechanics based theory of Sir Roger Penrose's collaborative effort with Stuart Hameroff in Orch-OR which sees the lattice structure of the nucleus (microtubules) as linking via entanglement with the very fabric of the universe-hologram. This makes very real the religious concept of the soul, Christian concept of the Holy Spirit, The Buddhist-Brahman, Hindus- Atman, Native Americans knew reality was an illusion too.

Please know that behind the snarkiness lies an unconditional love for you, ditto all humanity and not just because the same science I referenced calls for a oneness with all.

Re: “St. Luke's Magic Valley Confirms Child's Death Was Due to Receiving Wrong Medication

STLUKESLIES, what do you know about education requirements for HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS? Everyone involved in patient care, especially those administering medications, has post-secondary education. Sorry dear, people with only a high school diploma aren't able to push drugs, you'll find them cleaning the floors. Throwing money at public education won't fix this.

Re: “Public Art Projects for Boise in FY 2016: 37 Local Artists, $1.4 Million

Thanks, Benj. Please remember that the City currently spends more than $4 million in federal and local funds per year on housing and community services to combat homelessness, far more than it spends on arts and cultural projects.

Re: “Live NASA Feed: Supermoon Eclipse + Major Mars Announcement = Supernews

The coming total lunar eclipse on Sunday ( 27 – 28 September) has certain distinguishing features such as : (1). It is combining with supermoon ( perigee Moon ), (2) It is the fourth total lunar eclipse in series, (3). Energies being generated by planets such as Saturn, Mars, Jupiter , Rahu and Ketu ( Nodes of the Moon) as carriers of these lunar eclipses in contemporary times are not as positive as human beings would have wished . The likely impact of the said phenomenon on earth and its inhabitants was explained by this Vedic astrology writer in article - "Total lunar eclipse of 28 September 2015 and the world"- published in June 2015 in Summer 2015 issue of The Astrologer's Notebook , a quarterly publication in print from North Port, Florida. Some months before and after also, the impact remains. . It looks as if there is widespread environment of uncertainty. Mankind is undoubtedly passing through tougher , harder and critical times which may likely cause before mid – 2016 wider damage or harm but end time of mankind as feared by some is neither disclosed nor supported by planetary impacts mentioned here.

$1.4 million could do a lot for the homeless issue in Boise.
Art is nice but...
having a sense of humanity is a bit more important, socially, or at least so I think.

Re: “Anti-Vaxx to the Max

Anti vaxxers should remove themselves from the herd. A 50 year longitudinal study would put this to rest nicely. Also, 50 year separation from anti science fu.dies would be refreshing.

Re: “Anti-Vaxx to the Max

One might conclude by some of the comments here that certain individuals have had more than their fair share of toxic chemical laden vaccines.

Or, it could be the case of bored, reckless juveniles playing on their parent's computers.

Either way, there's a tremendous lack of intelligence involved in their contributions to this thread.

Vaccine preventable diseases do not exist. No vaccine has ever been proven a preventative for any disease.

Vaccine induced disease, injury, illness and death. Now we're onto something!

Re: “BYU-Idaho Bans 'Man Buns' On Campus

That's the problem with Cults, they make up the craziest rules. Good news is this Cult will change its mind when "man-buns" have majority support... ask any modern female or black person.

Re: “BYU-Idaho Bans 'Man Buns' On Campus

The man bun doesn't restrict someone from having a temple recommend, or taking the sacrament. Why should it even be a consideration when it comes to the 'honor code'? The Pharisees and Sadducees had all sorts of extra rules, what makes the honor code any different?

Re: “St. Luke's Magic Valley Confirms Child's Death Was Due to Receiving Wrong Medication

These incidences happen everyday in every state. It is not due to your thoughts of low standards of education in this state and as for students from Idaho going to out of state colleges, it happens every year with the new graduates of this state. Seems to me that you are gathering your information from an unreliable source, or you have no idea of what the real statistics are for graduates continuing on for higher education. As of this years report Idaho is 33rd on the list, much higher than your 49, may not be the best but sure is not the worse and as for grading practices we are ranked 20th, those are not bad numbers from what I can see, and all I have to say about your thoughts on our health care, students, professionals and Idahoans in general is if you don't like it here go somewhere else. We love it here and our children thrive and are very successful.
