Re: “The Odd Alliance Between Donald Trump and Some South Boise Residents

The 61% percent is based on your pole where the same person could vote multiple times. It's a worthless number.

Re: “The Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future Beg Boise to Rethink Homelessness

Comments are back? It's a CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!!

Prentice: "Exposure to the winter elements has claimed many lives of homeless men and women in Boise..." If that is the case, they sure keep it under wraps. I can only remember a handful of such incidents... and some of them could probably be attributed as much to intoxication, as homelessness.

Peterson: "I truly learned about those who are shelter-resistant. Suddenly everything turned on its head." Perhaps in a follow-up, some of those people/stories could be shared. Frankly, it can be difficult for us working-class folks to feel a lot of sympathy for people who willfully reject the free facilities that are made available, because they are "resistant."

This may sound harsh... but how do we (taxpayers and charitable-minded citizens) provide comfortable facilities, meals, etc., for homeless folks, without attracting MORE homeless folks? Like the movie says, "Build it and they will come."

Chronic homelessness - it's an issue, all right! And no easy answer.

Re: “The Odd Alliance Between Donald Trump and Some South Boise Residents

The Treasure Valley will be negatively impacted by F-35s, F-15s & F-16s. Recently, FA-18s visited Gowen Field and each time the craft took-off or landed, sleeping babies living east of Federal Way and Amity were awakened and cried from the intense and alarming sounds of the jets. Wake-up Treasure Valley, it is not a Vista Bench issue. We will all feel the air and noise polution. Given there is not room for the entire population to live in the foothills north of Boise, another solution is needed.

Re: “Thinkin' of Schinken

They need to stay open longer and better hours so those that work 8-5 can actually visit and get food.

Re: “The Odd Alliance Between Donald Trump and Some South Boise Residents

Probably a good guess that 61% support for F-35s at Gowen is based more on our politician's full court press to convince Treasure Valley dwellers of a positive economic impact than on a full understanding of the negative aspects of supersonic aircraft in an urban setting. A-10s and commercial aircraft do not present similar health risks.

Re: “Review: Surviving a Second Run of A Nighttime Survival Guide

I saw the original A Nighttime Survival Guide. It has been my favorite BCT production of all time. I just saw the revival. It is still my favorite. I see the monsters differently than the reviewer. The artistry and entertainment pay homage to the fertility of a child's imagination. But even more important, the monsters come alive with human characteristics, illustrating the importance of recognition and understanding rather than fear.

Re: “Lewiston Police Chief Suing Home Depot

From another article:
"Ankenys lawyer argues that Home Depot knew of this defect since they warned in the instructions to not stand on the rack."

So the instructions clearly state "do not do this", he does it anyway and somehow this is Home Depot's fault.

People like this are ruining this country

Re: “Lewiston Police Chief Suing Home Depot

The written directions said not to stand on it. If Chief Chris Ankeny cannot follow those simple directions, We should question his ability to perform any other kind of decisions. What a fool.

Re: “Boise Makes Air Force Shortlist to House F-35 Fighter Jets

Bring it! However my opinion is a bit biased because I used were the uniform and work the runway when F4s were still flying out of Boise and scaring old Butch's cattle grazing our public lands. Does anybody remember how loud those flying pigs were? I'm guessing the F35s aren't louder than the F4 but thats something the airforce should probably clarify.

Re: “Video: PETA Stages Anti-Wool Protest in Downtown Boise

I feel like no one really thinks about wool not being very nice to sheep. You just think that the sheep has to be sheared and that doesn't hurt the animal. I don't understand why shearers have to be so cruel and abusive. What is wrong with people?

Re: “Boise Makes Air Force Shortlist to House F-35 Fighter Jets

The Mayor and City Council recently approved the first new subdivision south the airport, despite the fact that location south and west of the airport will be subjected to significant noise levels due to the arrival of the new jets. Also, there has been a significant investment to revitalize the Vista corridor. This shows me that the City doesn't have a clear vision and isn't strong enough to protect its citizens from real estate developers, the BOI airport, and the military. Come on Boise city leadership.... LEAD and protect your people!

That'll get people's attention, and hopefully convince them to scratch wool off their shopping list. There are so many more humane options.

This is brilliant. So many people don't realize that wool causes massive suffering. There are so many better things to wear.

Love this protest. Vegan wool is easy to find, and it will keep you warm and cozy without contributing to cruelty.

Re: “Video: PETA Stages Anti-Wool Protest in Downtown Boise

Good for PETA. There's nothing warm about wool, not when sheep are abused so that it can be stolen from then. With all of the stylish, durable synthetics available, there are plenty of options to ward off the chill without making animals suffer.

Re: “Miss Sloane: Slogging Through the Swamp

"Already nominated twice for an Oscar, Miss Sloane has again put Chastain on many critics' short lists for a Best Actress nod." This sentence declares that Miss Sloane, not Jessica Chastain, has already received two Oscar nominations. But no nominations have yet been made for this year.
