Re: “Bill Emerges That Would Give 'Leeway' to Passing Motorists on Idaho Highways

how about we get rid of the bad laws? or allow law enforcement to use discretion?it's common sense that majority of folks passing will be going over the speed limit. man idaho.....still sitting in the stone age with dumb laws and big gov GOP.

Re: “Labrador-Sponsored Religious Freedom Bill Could Resurface This Year

I agree! This not what the U.S. is about. We have separation of church and state (including.... especially including schools!) Freedom of religion doesn't mean you get to dictate your morality to the rest of our citizens!

Re: “Bill Emerges That Would Give 'Leeway' to Passing Motorists on Idaho Highways

Washington State is adding passing lanes to many highways. Three will be added to the Pullman - Spokane highway this year.

That isn't going to happen in Idaho. It is more important to give millionaires tax-cuts rather than make our highways safer.

No, increased risk for impatience makes no sense. I've seen the double line for passing on a 2 lane in too many places that would not allow a blanket change like this to be a safe one. It's not about whether or not you'll get a ticket.

Re: “When Immigration Politics and Faith Collide

Democrats are vile creatures who will commit any crime to regain their pathetic grasp on political power.
POTUS is authorized by 8 U.S.C. 1182(f).
These 'judges' are obviously wrong, and should be removed from the bench for the appearance of impropriety.... If you do not obey the law nether will I..

I'm so glad we don't have anything important for our legislators to be concerned about.

Re: “When Immigration Politics and Faith Collide

We never know what someone has been through before they are assigned refugee status; the stories I've heard make me grateful for my place in the birth lottery. Fear of the unknown is human; but so are curiosity and compassion. It's worth considering how we want to be remembered or judged for our words or actions. Thankfully, most Idahoans I know are good people.

"Alaskry was among nearly a dozen Iraqi interpreters who told The Associated Press they were taken off planes or were told their flights were cancelled after Trump's order, which also banned refugees from Syria indefinitely.

The ban outraged combat veterans who credited the Iraqis with saving their lives. The Pentagon recommended that Iraqis who had supported the U.S. mission be let in."

Re: “When Immigration Politics and Faith Collide

Quoting out of the Bible is fine if what is said is supported by a text that can be verified. One verse is often not enough.

As for what is happening now, it is blown out of proportion. The idea is for a 120 day stay on bringing refugees while the new administration seeks better vetting. I am not sure that security vetting is even possible. But he new administration needs to see where the existing effort has been lacking and seek to do better. That is not an unreasonable request. Since fewer than half the Countries which contain large populations of Muslims are on the list, I do not see anything racist about it. It is common sense.

Re: “Get Relentless

Omigosh! Willya look at this?!! More Bile from Bill! (Votta countrie!)

I've kinda assumed that since election day, Bill had prolly been kicking his dog, throwin' stuff across the room, lashing out at Mrs. Cope, etc. FANTASTIC it is, that Boise Weekly has seen the need for a professional name-caller! Some artists work with paints or musical instruments... Bill's talent is "poison pen," for sure!! Welcome back, Bill. (I don't know why I added that... he professes to never read the comments.)

His totally-predictable attack on Evil Trump would have a lot more weight if, in the paragraph before, he hadn't sung the praises of another serial liar/cheater - she of the Pant Suits! The ONLY reason I voted for Trump (while holding nose) was on account of the Democrat alternative. I bet millions around the country felt the very same way. (It's unfortunate that Idaho's choices for president - Bernie Sanders and Ted Cruz - were sent home early.)

Re: “When Immigration Politics and Faith Collide

It's dangerous to quote out of the Bible - particularly the Old Testament - to justify the sheltering of "foreigners," because a key tenet seems to be AVOIDING integration with the Philistines and Babylonians! King Saul was commanded to kill 'em all - men, women, children, and livestock!

Christ changed things up, by teaching that EVERYBODY - even the despised Samaritans - is our neighbor. And most Christians accept that and are happy to welcome and provide aid to refugees.

HOWEVER... there's a big divide between being a "welcoming city" and a "sanctuary city."

I have friends from a half-dozen countries, including Iraq, who have come here seeking peace and prosperity, and I welcome them. At the same time, I appreciate that my government is trying to keep TERRORISTS out. Let's welcome people who want to coexist, but reject the "Death to America" Faction, huh?

The bill creates a registry of illegal aliens. Not criminal immigrants, just because u are arrested does not make u guilty. Innocent until proven guilty, meaning at the time they research the immigration status you are legally Innocent. This law is unamerican and unconstitutional.

The insane age of open borders is over. Lol @ the irony of liberals supporting something pushed by multi billion dollar corporations exclusively for profit.
