Re: “Mountain Home Dentist, Previously Charged With Lewd Conduct, Accused of Selling Drugs Near School

Totally false accusation. Nothing was sold. Where did they get their false info for this false news! He wasn't even arrested! Anyone with a brain knows that halcion is not a narcotic. It is not a street drug that anyone sells. It was administered to a patient for a procedure in a medical clinic. The school mentioned is surrounded by medical clinics. That means there would be felonies committed every working day around there based on what he did. This is simply a case of a media monster making stuff up. The media is completely immune to being punished for lying. That's terrifying because this media lie is beyond slanderous.

Re: “Ron Campbell

I'm definitely a product of that Golden Age of Saturday morning cartoons. And Mr. Campbell worked on some of the best. I actually am old enough to remember and love the Warner Bros. cartoons. For people my age, that period was golden, also. The original Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tasmanian Devil, etc. I remember the year or so when cartoons were considered too "violent" and they were edited. You didn't see the boulder fall on the coyote, or Elmer's shotgun blow up because of the carrot plugging up the end. What a crock that was. Thanks for the interview with Mr. Campbell. I'd love to have a couple of hours to talk with him.

Re: “Dietrich: Idaho Teen, Community Grapple With Aftermath of Assault

I found myself in a much milder, yet similar situation when I was in 5th grade back in the 70s. A gang of self appointed "popular" people had me in a bullying corner that could have resulted in a violent physical outcome. Only because the gang were not quite capable of forcing the event to its climax, I did escape it. I suppress the event and rarely think about it, unless events like this one pop up. This was a very horrific attack and no matter what motive or identity label you want to put on it, it deserves close scrutiny and condemnation. I really something good comes out of it and we can learn and improve upon our human condition. Idaho doesn't need any more reasons for flyover know-it-alls to berate us. Let's not give them any more.

Re: “Idaho Senate Approves Memorial Asking for National Park Designation for Craters of the Moon

Make it happen! The people and economies of SE Idaho need this! The only opposition to this name-change has been based in skepticism, misinformation, and a total lack of verifiable information or research. Land-use designations would not change (grazers would still graze/hunters would still hunt on the preserve portion), the highway would still be operated by the state (like it has been since 1941/ hay trucks can still drive through unimpeded like they always have), and the gateway communities/surrounding areas would see huge economic benefits (the driving force behind this whole idea).

Re: “Idaho Senate Approves Memorial Asking for National Park Designation for Craters of the Moon

How will this effect the farming, ranching, and the trucking community in our county, we rely on that road to take our commodities to the dairies in the Jerome area. What are the laws on trucking commodities on National Park highways? We can't afford to have every hay or grain load inspected or certified before it enters the park............farming and ranching is a major part of this community, if we can't truck our commodities through the park I am totally against it, on the other hand if trucks can go through without hindrance I'm all for it. I'm sure Sun Valley can't wait for this to happen........it will help them tremendously!

Re: “House Panel Forwards Reversal of Telemedicine Abortion Ban

In a humane society, there should be no place for "pills" designed intentionally to poison tiny unborn children being protected and nurtured in their mothers' wombs. Chemical poisoning of an innocent defenseless human being is utterly barbaric. Administering poisoned medications to a little son or daughter in a mother's womb is cruel and inhumane. Violence against children is never 'necessary'. Their mothers' personal and social needs can and should be met by non-violent means

Re: “Trump's Clumsy Sweep: Idaho Immigrants Caught in Political Divide

To idahogr142: not all "non card carrying" immigrants ae on the run for their crimes. They do not participate in the welfare system, nor are they, despite the populist propaganda, more likely to commit crimes. Most are hard working parents who just want a better life for their families. Many have been your neighbors for years. they own homes, pay taxes, and even own businesses. Yes some are criminals, as are some American born persons. This does not make the entire group evil or criminal. See the individuals, not the "bad hombres" in the press and send the deviant, criminal (not parking tickets or speeding tickets) away. Keep the good hard working citizens-in-waiting and give them legal status. As a country we will benefit.

Re: “Trump's Clumsy Sweep: Idaho Immigrants Caught in Political Divide

I hope the law passes. Shame on Idaho, and the rest of the US, for building an economy dependent on illegal immigration. Here's another law they should pass. All employers/farmers knowingly employing illegal aliens should be warned for a first offense, fined for a second & jailed for repeated offenses. Illegals would not come or stay if they couldn't find a job.

Re: “Amendment to Concealed-Carry Law Passes Through Idaho Legislature Committee

The Second Amendment has Biblical Natural Law foundation. Our Lord said in Luke 11:21, When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace. In Luke 22:35, 36 He said, He that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. The principle of armed self-defense is redundant throughout the scriptures in both testaments. Genesis 14, Esther 8 and 9, and Revelation 13:10 are good places to start. In fact, Revelation 13:10 is an extended commentary on the words of Jesus to Simon Peter in the Garden of Gethsemane when Christ told Peter to put up (not give up) his sword in Matthew 26:52. No passage of Scripture has been more egregiously misinterpreted (except Romans 13*) than this passage in Matthew.

Re: “Amendment to Concealed-Carry Law Passes Through Idaho Legislature Committee

The right of a citizen to bear arms, in lawful defense of himself or the State, is absolute. He does not derive it from the State government. It is one of the high powers" delegated directly to the citizen, and `is excepted out of the general powers of government.' A law cannot be passed to infringe upon or impair it, because it is above the law, and independent of the lawmaking power." [Cockrum v. State, 24 Tex. 394, at 401-402 (1859)]

Re: “Trump's Clumsy Sweep: Idaho Immigrants Caught in Political Divide

We are NOT talking about legal green card carrying immigrants!!!!! Why can't some people grasp this concept???? Yes, we are all immigrants to this country, but we are talking about ILLEGAL, FELONY, MISDEMEANOR,ON THE RUN FOR THEIR CRIMES, NON CARD CARRYING ILLEGALS!!! If you still believe after this clarification that this thought process is inhuman, please, I beg of you, set an example and open your home. Please house and feed these people and get them off of our welfare system because I for one, do not want to pay for them. If you do, awesome! Please show us your true humane side and not just rhetoric
