Re: “UPDATE: Arbiter Declines Advertising from Creationist Groups, Issues Statement

Of course the Arbiter will also never publish a story about how scientists put a black man, Ota Benga, in a New York zoo cage with apes, to prove the evolutionary chain as to how black people are so close to monkeys. Yeah . . .evolutionary believers are always so right. Pseudo science it is.

Re: “UPDATE: Arbiter Declines Advertising from Creationist Groups, Issues Statement

This is a great example of liberal tolerance. We are accepting of all viewpoints, as long as they are the ones we want to hear.

Re: “Race For Boise Mayor Narrows at the Hoff Building

Let's hope not. Judy is right about the tax burden! Dave Bieter and the city council members have over burdened Boiseans with. Our city officials think it is okay to move a fire station less than 1/2 a mile?? They want to make Boise livable, while soliciting the F35 for Gowen Field to pollute the Treasure Valley with noise, 4X louder than the F15 that were visiting from Mountain Home??

Re: “Idaho Tax Commission Sets 2016 Homeowner Exemption

I wish they had a Senior rate for home Taxes. Our home in Kentucky was twice the size and twice the value but because they cut a break for Seniors our taxes were a lot less than they are here for our home in Boise. Even with the homeowner exemption, I think they are too high.

The facts you have posted in this article are very inaccurate and it is advised you remove this article from publication.

just because you agree on the terms, doesn't mean the divorce is amicable.

Re: “Four Hikers Attempt the 900-Mile Idaho Centennial Trail

Yeah it was definitely a tough start. A wedding at the end of June pushed our start date a little too far into the danger zone. Had to give it a shot though. I just finished rehiking those miles today. Even in September at 70 degrees, it was still a tough hike.

It's hard to feel sorry for Bergdahl. What happened to him he caused.

Re: “UPDATE: Arbiter Declines Advertising from Creationist Groups, Issues Statement

The ad probably intimated that the creationist event was an official school event - creationists do this a lot, hiring a hall and then saying "This event took place at XYZ University!"

It's nice to see actual facts coming out of the hearing instead of speculation and trial by social and traditional media.

Re: “UPDATE: Arbiter Declines Advertising from Creationist Groups, Issues Statement

Good Job Arbititer!
It would have been funny if the editor had said... "I will run your add if you can prove what you are saying/selling is true... " The only place fiction has in higher ed is in Lit and creative writing.

Universities are a place for higher learning, not higher stupidity. Bravo to the newspaper that refused to announce a creationist BS event.

Re: “UPDATE: Arbiter Declines Advertising from Creationist Groups, Issues Statement

They've accomplished highlighting that the event is something no intelligent and educated person would want anything to do with. Seriously America grow up and join the rest of the western world. We cames to terms with the reality of Evolution a century ago.

Re: “UPDATE: Arbiter Declines Advertising from Creationist Groups, Issues Statement

BSU supports "embraces the freedom of expression guaranteed by the Constitution" for their school newspaper but not for those students who want to bring this event on campus. I thought universities were supposed to be open minded and expose their students to all kinds of experiences. No one is being forced to attend the event. By rejecting the ad though they have probably brought greater awareness and publicity to the event so not sure they've accomplished much.

Re: “UPDATE: Arbiter Declines Advertising from Creationist Groups, Issues Statement

Hope those creationist idiots didn't pay their hack lawyer a lot of money- they're going to lose. The law on student publications is clear- they can reject anyone they want. In addition, the Editor in Chief of the Arbiter made it clear that to be fair they aren't allowing ANY advertisement of a religious nature- not creationists, not churches or temples or mosques, not atheist groups. Equality all around.

And quick tip, children- creationism is absolute nonsense. No educational facility should be rejecting of evidence based science in favor of Iron Age mythology. Saying "all viewpoints" should be taught is like saying they should teach alchemy in chemistry class or horoscopes in physics.
