Re: “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Franco

James Franco is exactly like a male prostitute, did you see that photo he posted on his instagram last month? It's really hard to believe James Franco has any education at all. USC and UCLA let James Franco teach acting there coz the university want to promote film school. James Franco didn't finish any education to teach at the college. James Franco have no dignity at all. Look at that movie homefront, look how dignity-LESS James Franco is. Yuck!

Re: “The Three 'B's' of Summer Movies: Blockbusters, B-Grades and Busts

Why is X-Men DOFP put in the discount theater section? This movie looks excellent, most of the early reviews have been extremely positive, with this potentially being the best film in the franchise. This is more of a "must-see" than most of the films in the "must-see" section (though there are several of those that I'm interested in checking out).

Re: “The Three 'B's' of Summer Movies: Blockbusters, B-Grades and Busts

What's funny about this list is that the top 10 are the best suited for Blu-Ray rental at home. They aren't cinematic pieces that play to the big screen format. Heck, A million Ways to Die in the West looks like it was shot in an old back lot at MGM with a video camera. I'm not saying these movies aren't good. I am just of the opinion that to pay $10+ on a movie these days requires something of a rather grand scale. Give me something to look at. And most of those movies play fine at the discount theaters.

Better yet, wait till November when the actual good movies start to come out for pre-oscar buzz. Best of all, at home you can make everyone turn their cell phones off.

Re: “Noah: Cloudy With a Chance of Mercy

The "Book of Jubilees" and "Enoch" were rejected from the Biblical canon and NEITHER one of them mentioned the flood. In other words, they are FICTIONAL...So if the supposed basis is based on these, it's ridiculous. Let's get factual.

Re: “Cable One Removes Viacom Channels in Contract Standoff

Cable One has no problem collecting their full service fee, which is much higher than other TV viewing services, then they want to provide less value to their customers for the same price. These new channels are "CRAP" and they know it. I can no longer view any of the shows I normally watch, so several of my relatives and friends in the neighborhood are searching for a better service. We are through with substandard service after years of being customers with Cable One. Look for a cancellation of service in the College Park area of Gulfport, MS. What's next? You suck for not getting your customer's feedback and just turning off the channels we paid for in the middle of the month. Turner, Viacom and whose next?

Re: “Cable One Removes Viacom Channels in Contract Standoff

Kudos to Cable One for fighting this battle. It is outrageous for the network to be loosing viewership and demand such price increases, which would be passed on the customer anyway. Companies like Viacom and Turner are opposing federal legislation to require a-la-carte programming options and pricing, because they want us to pay for hundreds of channels of crap, just so we can watch the 12 out of 300 channels that are actually good.

Re: “Cable One, Viacom Feud Could Blackout Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, TV Land

Boise has the lowest cable penetration of any market in the entire country, so says Nielsen. Less than 23% of homes have cable. Contrast that with areas like NYC where more than 90% of homes have cable.

Re: “The 2014 Sun Valley Film Festival: 'And... Action'

Thank God I now live in Utah where the Sundance film festival happens in Park City. I want to remind many wasn't it the Knytes-of-Anarchy our club that suggested a Sun Valley Film Festival back in 2006-7? Hope we get credit for this one.

Re: “Film Documents Anita Hill's Real-Life Drama

As a former member of the Idaho Commission on Women’s Programs, I strongly support the efforts of the Friends of the United Nations Population Fund ("UNFPA") in its world wide efforts to foster the individual independence and educational opportunities of women and to improve their access to family planning services. However, for film-maker Goldwyn to exclaim "surprise" at having her festival request for funding from the Sun Valley City Council turned down for being a partisan political event is disingenuous. Worse still, serves only to damage the mission of UNFPA, which faces real and relevant political obstacles as it is, without the infusion of such needless political controversy. It would seem that Goldwyn, a self described "reformed sitcom writer" and ex-wife of Samuel Goldwyn, Jr., is using this festival to burnish her own career rather than thoughtfully enhancing the purposes of UNFPA of which she is an emeritus member.

Anita Hill, the victim, should be on the Supreme Court, not Clarence Thomas, the perpetrator. Go Figure.

Re: “Idaho Legislature Aims to Lure More Movie Production

Honestly, does the legislature have time to consider this with all the time tidying up the state? Why we had to be sure concealed weapons holders packed pistols on Idaho campuses, be sure Holsteins, Jersey and Gurnsey cows were being beaten in private, and fund the anti-gay marriage law fund.

Let's give these guys and homophobe Butch Otter a break. They're exhausted.

All truths about the legislature and wealthy rancher Butch Otter aside, supporting the Idaho film industry could only help Idaho. It is a great, clean industry. Everybody loves movies. Be sure to follow the history of Idaho Cinema and Nell Shipman with movie clips at Youtube. Astonishing.

Occasionally, I see a scene in a movie shot in Idaho. But, it seems many other states have just gotten in line first with their aggressive film board promotion.

Promotion of Idaho films is critical and could include major production as well as the independent film documentary. Idaho Public TV is a great resource for much of my own information about Idaho, and could be expanded. Student programs in public schools and universities could be fully expanded with funding.

Idaho, home of the Sun Valley Serenade!

PS: by the way, our legislators are not as exhausted as I portrayed. They sometimes use canned legislation provided by the ultra right legislation mill organization, ALEC.

PSPS: I've heard there is an underground railroad now for Gurnsey cows seeking to get out of Idaho, but I don't know it that is true.

PSPSPS: watch a movie for life change
