My wife was in line around 10:30 but still with a good shot of getting a wristband until people started cutting in line ahead. She missed by about 30. Cheaters!
Maybe he'll like Boise so much he'll consider staying on for a few nights!
Heartbroken that I didn't know about this! I would have been there at 6:30 too.
I am SO happy for these people! Seeing Jack White in a really small setting like the Egyptian is a gift of grace.
Super fair to the people who have to work...
A small correction: "Big Branch Mine" is actually about the Upper Big Branch Mine in West Virginia. Sorry, Lee.
I bought this CD last week and love every song on it. If you like the singer/song-writer genre you will really love this CD. I'm so happy I found it, and very happy Boise Weekly is promoting it. It's fantastic.
I heard the pasta primavera keeps her coming back
I heard a rumor she is also doing a special evening performance on the back patio of Smokey Mountain Pizza on State Street
We are excited to have the Boise Highlanders at Angell's Bar and Grill - Renato again this year. What a tradition. They are scheduled for 7:30 pm on Tuesday. See you then!
As a member of the long-defunct Freeman's Attic and So Far Gone, some of my best memories are of playing the Crazy Horse (1994-1996). One overlooked aspect of the club was the welcoming attitude towards local groups and the up and coming - not just the great bands that came through ( I saw Fugazi there in 95' I think it was..). Yes, the bands I was in sucked, but the Crazy Horse gave us a home, and we loved it - good times...
Victor, Linda and Arthur Ballinger have made KBSU a fantastic music station. I'm sure Carl will carry on Victor's great tradition. I love listening to music you just don't hear on any other radio station. I worked in the "evil" commercial radio many years ago when I lived near Chicago. You played what the boss or sponsors wanted you to play or only the top 40, etc. Not unlike commercial radio today with it's music feeds from the big conglomerates. I've been a long-time supporter of public radio and will continue to do so.
Hi this is one of Vic's sisters.Thank you for Vic's Picks today! Feb 28, 2015.

Muzzie-Do you remember when you were first starting out and played for dances at the Silver Bar in Clayton, ID for Walt and Ernestine Reiman? To the day he died Walt talked of the wonderful memories of those days. We always wanted to come back to one of your reunions in Challis, Id but our timing was always off and we were always too early or too late. Maybe someday I'll show up with one of our grandkids. They would love the music.
I get it, man. Sometimes it's way easier to write half an article and then just post the second half of it in list form in the comments section. All the great music journalists do that.
Also, kudos on the inclusion of a tribute album. Nothing lazy about that, my dude!
Rest of the Best:
Drive-By Truckers, English Oceans
John Nemeth, Memphis Grease
Tennis, Ritual in Repeat
Sylvan Esso, Sylvan Esso
Jessica Lea Mayfield, Make My Head Sing
Various Artists, A Tribute to Bob Dylan in the '80s: Vol. 1
The Old 97's, Most Messed Up
Saw these guys TWICE here in Boise!! Terrific!
Thanks for making this event the weekly Staff Pick!
Ginger is anti-disabled people. Her talks about accepting freaks? The majority of her clients are former strippers, thugs and people who promote violence. Perhaps it use to be about what she claimed... But it is no longer. The Red Queen has grown too big for her britches and forgotten her roots. She now cares more about popularity then people... SHAME on you, Wicked Wonderland. I stopped being Goth in Boise because I cannot support the thuggery and violence you promote. This should be a safe place. Apparently, Ginger no longer cares about safety. I'm a high functioning autistic. This group bullied me. I didnt fit in with her and her little THUGS... I was backed against a bar and blacklisted from half of Boise, because of it. I feared for my life... I asked her for assistence, since it was her venue and her party... She pretended I didnt exist and a three crazy women tried to kill me, while she stood there. Apparently I wasnt popular enough to matter to her. WARNING TO ANYONE WHO ISNT PERFECT. Stay away. Wicked Wonderland is a front for something sinister and violent.
