Re: “Park and Ride

Bogus? No chairlift proposed. A Magic Carpet like the beginner area.
Lucky Peak? One of their docks wouldn't fit in the Gateway Lake. The proposal is for people who don't have boats.
Pollution ? For everyone who crosses Hill Road and Bogus Basin Road this park saves 16 miles of driving as the park is 8 miles from that intersection. If you live west you are saving that much more. Everyone saves drive distance, even Highlands residents.
How many people live where the Rocky MTN Oyster Feed is held? Yet it's advertised for the whole valley. We're all from the valley. I'm betting many of the NIMBAs commute to Boise taking away my open space biking the streets.
But this area has been approved for years as a sports park. Have not heard of anything else proposed since time expired for the velodrome. Time to move forward. It appears to be a fiscally responsible proposal for Eagle to offer improved amenities to its residents without additional upfront costs as Neptune proposes to shoulder the burden.
Most all ski areas in the states make use of public lands. Not only do they charge, most activities through any park or recreation program has charged fees for decades.
Ryan isn't building America's next great ski area. He proposes an entry gateway. For the kids. Almost like a gift.

Re: “Park and Ride

Ron Garnys, I know plenty of people, including myself that live a 5 minute bikeride away, there are plenty of major neighborhoods within a 10 minute bike ride of the complex. How is this a bad idea? It gives our kids something to do very close to us, instead of them getting themselves into trouble. My good sir, you are crazy. Noise and pollution? Hardly, if at all any pollution will come with this, and the you won't even be able to hear the noise from it from any of the closest houses. I do not get how this is a BAD idea one bit. None of your information is correct you hick.

Re: “Park and Ride

This is a bad idea and the ones who support it don't even live right by the area. I mean we have Bogus Basin and Lucky Peak...are you that lazy to go there. The noise and traffic and all the other polution will follow. I don't trust this developer or the Eagle City council. This is not how we use our public lands, to close it off and charge people to use it.
Shame on Eagle City Hall for doing this under the table of the people who live right near by. Bad idea!!!

Re: “Park and Ride

This park would be a great asset for Boise/Eagle. Who knows, the next shawn white might be a wee lad at an elementary school right now, just waiting for the right opportunity to blossom.

Re: “Boise's DIY Bikes Hit the Streets

Don't go to Andrew Little, or Got Fixed (his business). He is the most unprofessional bike person I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. He took my bike and my money six months ago for a paint job that should have been a week tops. I STILL don't have my bike back. He won't answer or return calls. The weekly should stop supporting this guy until he can get his act together.

Re: “Syfy's Television/Video Game Hybrid 'Defiance' Stumbles

The guy who wrote this article does a very poor job of explaining the story and has hardly played the game. The story is extremely complex and cannot be summed up in a few half-assed paragraphs. Please do yourself a favor, read articles about this game and show from someone who invested more than the 5 minutes that this idiot did.

'The game is laggy and disconnecting might mean rebooting the computer."

I get an MMO being laggy at launch, they all have been but I don't understand how a laggy game requires the restart of a computer.

Re: “Syfy's Television/Video Game Hybrid 'Defiance' Stumbles

Please never write anything about a game again. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about....

"The Good:

Graphically, Defiance is a solid-looking title. Some of the animations are solid as well. The effects and audio are a great combination."

Really? Defiance is one of the least graphically intensive games out right now. It doesn't look terrible but its looks are definitely nothing to write home about.

"The Bad:

The game is laggy and disconnecting might mean rebooting the computer. The monsters are a little too familiar--like they have immigrated from other games--and the general game mechanics do not offer much that is new. There have also been disconnects."

This was clearly information gathered from other websites that posted about these issues a month or so ago when the game WAS having lag problems. There has since been a major patch along with several smaller updates that have all but eliminated any connection issues. And this.. "the monsters are a little too familiar" ... really? I'm assuming this is because you're focusing on the fact that they are "aliens". It's a fantasy/sci-fi game. What do you expect?

Overall, it's a solid game. It has a few minor issues but it's still a fun and interesting concept. Not entirely sure how Defiance is "stumbling" considering they've captured over 1 million players since launch and the TV show has been renewed for a 2nd series and has decent ratings already. You should perform better research before writing ever again.

Re: “Trinity Ridge Fire Area Opens to Wild Mushroom Picking

Has anybody found any Morels in the Trinity Fire area yet? I was about 30 miles in heading east of Idaho City on 327 about a week ago and found nothing but tick's and giant biting black flies.

Re: “Rallycross Brings Speed to Idaho's Country Roads

I'd just like to point out that this isn't rally-cross. It's just straight rally. still fun and cool though. Rally-cross is dirt and mud (like a rally) and tarmac track all in one race, it's a cross between two types of racing.

Re: “The Long Way

SpikeBoarding™ is full body high performance endurance sport on a longboard deck. If endurance fitness head to toe is of interest to you, nothing out there holds a candle to SpikeBoarding™ short of Nordic Roller Ski. SpikeBoarders™ never walk and go over and down everything that comes at them. It is more motor sport than gravity sport. Same as snow skiing. No difference at all. Alpine and Nordic. Choose and select the adequate terrain.

Re: “Trials and Tribulations of Canyon County Duck Hunting

I think the argument was made pretty clear, as to the definition of guiding. I dont care if they held the persons hand. To pay for access and have decoys put in place or your blind built for you is the same thing as being pampered by some guide their to wipe your nose. You sound a little biased, or maybe just a client of heavy hitters that wants to feel better about themselves for not getting it done on your own. HAPPY HUNTING

Re: “Christmas Lights Take Flight

NOISE POLLUTION- RACKET OVER YOUR NORTH END OR FOOTHILLS HOME?? This is where it's coming from! Every 10 or 15 minutes early each evening a chopper goes blasting through the sky over my house heading roughly north by northwest. I'm going to complain, but you need to help me or nothing will be done. These buttwipes have established a business- at the expense of our peace and quiet.

The more unnecessary helicopters over your house following the same flight path, the more chances one could fall out of the sky and hit your neighborhood. Sound fun? Someone is making money out of joyriding across what should be a peaceful piece of sky. SILVERHAWK AVIATION- 453-8577 IS THE FIRST NUMBER YOU NEED TO CALL TO MAKE A COMPLAINT. Let's do something about this- I'll be checking back here for your responses. Let's take it to Mayor Beiter or further if we have to.
