Re: “Presidents of the United States of America: Kudos to You!

Fantastic album. It's been in heavy rotation this week in my house. Might be my favorite since the debut.

Re: “High Rise, Stone Temple Pilots

It kinda sounds more like 'Dead by sunrise' (Chester's side project), except without the terribly lame lyrics and techno elements.

Re: “High Rise, Stone Temple Pilots

about as relevant as your somewhat biased and misinformed opinion??? WRONG!!! The last album was brilliant and a must have for true STP fans. Doesn't imitate Weiland??? Are you kidding? I thought it WAS Weiland. Whatever. You should go back and listen to the last album. High Rise sounds JUST LIKE STP's previous album. Fail!!!

Re: “Norma Jean: Redeemer

One of the dullest reviews I've ever read. It doesn't even try to make a point. Well, apart from saying that this is chaos and noise; which is neither wrong or right, is just a extremely tenuous argument. Everything he says could be easily said for thousands of metalcore albums. The review is extraordinarily simplistic and the reviewer fails in reviewing THIS album in particular. And of course naively assumes that noisy sounds (just usual low-tuned distorted guitars, actually) have no artistic dignity whatsoever.

Re: “Show Review: 3 Sides of the Cube, Sept. 8, Terrapin Station

I heard that 3 Sides had an impromptu reunion the other night that went so well that they're considering doing a full-fledged reunion.

Re: “Surf City of the Dead by Demoni

Does every band on 1332 Records have a song called "Twice the Evil"?

Re: “Malachi, Mourning Days: Volume II

Josh Gross's review of Malachi gives one the impression that his attention to this musical group's work is somehow incisive and important. The artists in question are reasonably talented and musically competent, but this reviewer is not content to break it down on this level. In fact, he seems to pan the band on the basis of personal taste!
Reviews of local art should not rub out the curiosity of the public audience. Local proto-critics working for little local weeklies and the editorial boards that inhabit them do little to serve The Cause of local art if they dissuade readers by critical overreach. Encouagement of public curiosity should be the watch words of these publications so that the people can go see and hear it for themselves.

Re: “Lonerism by Tame Impala

this is such a disappointing review. This album scored 9.5 out of 10 on Pitchfork. It is so well written and put together. Did you actually listen to it?

Re: “Walking Papers, Walking Papers

I have been playing guitar for a long time. I have fallen into a flat picking thing like Tony Rice, Mark Oconnor (picking in the wind) from my guitar lessons. What do you offer to help me Master these great flowing licks? Let me know would be appreciated.
