"reflects poorly on our city" &"amiss"....just plain funny. FYI when I voted, Big Wow Band wasn't even listed as a voting option in the list. This win was from write-in votes.
Hey, Clint Budge wasn't even listed as a voting option. All of his votes came in as a write-in. Yes, this does make sense!

Get all your friends to vote and you're sure to win no matter if you are the best or not.
Clint you are the best . Glad to be able to call you my friend.
No. Nothings amiss. You obviously dont get out much. If you havent seen them you need too. Best band in town by far. Big Wow and Clint are hands down the best. They should of won it last year.
I'm not a huge part of the music scene in Boise but I have NEVER heard of this band.. Hillfolk Noir I have seen several times this past year and they are awesome and very original! Something just seems amiss here!
But if you retire the winners then it's no longer a "best local band" but instead it is the "best new local band" or "best band who hasn't won before"
best local band is exactly that IMHO :)
Cover bands should have their own category. Also this result reflects very poorly on our city.
My hero, always makes me feel good with his singing! Always makes me feel welcome when I go listen to the band too!
Clint Budge…The BEST!
2009 winner was the Visual Arts Collective!
Yeah, something would be nice to shake it up a little. Though BtS DID actually play a couple shows in Idaho this year ;-) Big Wow primarily plays private events, so that's an interesting win... Way to go Sal!
Sometimes BW puts the previous year's winner as the easiest option to check... so anyone that's just voting on a couple unrelated things and not that focused on Arts/Entertainment will just blow through and check the first box they see in that category. Not saying it's unlikely the "incumbent" wouldn't win again anyway-- but do they really need that kind of assist to do it?
Seems like a good idea would be to retire the winners from the future pool of potential winners. Willamette Week does that and it keeps the list from looking too homogenous.
Who won best gallery in 2009? Seems that this category is the only one that does not list the 2009 winner.
Thirty years ago The Flicks started Boise's Grand March To becoming the livable and interesting city it is today. Thanks to The Flick's owners and others like them, Boise's Downtown is alive and thriving. Boise has matured into a more open hearted city. It even seems as though the average IQ has soared !
Should BTS even be eligible? Don't think they did a show here the entire year. I'm glad they are successful, but they are not really a "local" band.
We got married there on Saturday!
Well deserved, they are Boise's best!
Thanks solely to Abi Thomas! Get at her if you need an event catered unbelievably well!!
