As a downtown dweller I would love to see residential street parking permits either available or required in certain areas and neighborhoods, just like they have in other more metropolitan cities.
Guys, you need to get a clue.
If you want to get away with theft, you need to get into 'white collar' crime.
It's where the real lucrative theft occurs.
Petty theft is for losers.
Hook up with a big investment company or a 'Too Big to Fail' bank.
Several of these corporations have gotten away with stealing billions without anyone yet being apprehended or jailed.
They're not only playing the game with a free pass, but taking home huge salaries and bonuses to boot.
Now these are the kind of criminals to emulate.
P.S. Try to also line up some 'friends' in high places.
They may come in handy.
And remember "Greed is Good"
Thanks for posting this George.
This is a prime example of why more and more people are disturbed with the so-called 'Criminal/Justice' system.
Criminal....Justice.....No! Not even close.
One has to ask why it took so long for the AG in Montana to appeal this outrageous sentence?
Just a bit late to have potentially helped this girl before she checked out.
What kind of mouth-breathing moron would the judge have to be to claim that a 14-year-old-female-student "had as much control of the situation" as her rapist?
The teacher was convicted of rape wasn't he?
The judge added that she not only had equal control of the rape, but was also a troubled youth "older than her chronological age."
So, according to this judge, does troubled youth "older than her chronological age" mean having more control?...or...does it mean that the judge had an 'interest' in this girl himself?
Thus, his giving the lenient sentence to a fellow letch?
So she committed suicide and rapist wasn't charged with accessory to murder.... or even accessory to manslaughter. He caused her death as if he had pulled the trigger himself.
The real criminals are these lawyers and judges.
There is no justice in the US, only graft and corruption and we have only ourselves to blame.
John, save yourself some unnecessary guilt by skipping 'the letter to President Obama detailing how to fix health care' and 'the new letter to President Obama about the dubious morality of drone warfare'.
The Doctor and Drone Pilot in Chief is taking orders from a different group than the voters or the elected 'representatives in the District of Criminals.
You might want to turn up the guilt a bit, however, if you were one of the misguided souls who voted for Mr. Hope and Change.
The best choice was None of the Above.....as usual.
His parents must be so proud.
'Capitalism Unhinged' is a good way to put it.
This annual feeding frenzy leaves no doubt that Capitalism has achieved a total escape from Pandora's Box.
This is one offspring that didn't deserve the right to life.
'Police shot an alleged shoplifter in Chicago'
Well here's yet one more glaring sign of the times.
'a shoplifter shot a shopper in Las Vegas'
Now this is a big surprise in a city where the sleaze-bags and crooks outnumber the rest of the citizens.
50 million people on food stamps and the 'biggest shopping day in the United States' is a day when 'shoppers [are] fighting over electronics' like frenzied sharks fighting for a chunk of meat.
'Many major chains decided to let shoppers in by Thursday evening, meaning that retail workers would miss time with their families.'
Now here's another surprise, at least in Idaho, given that the workers live in a 'Right to Work (for less)' state.
Boardroom Talk: "Ha, Ha, Ha...Can you believe these employees think they can choose their own wages and work hours? This isn't a democracy!! We own 'em!
i am so proud of you dear Janet that your paintings teach PEACE...You are a great woman .Thanks to God to read more things about you
Iraq really is proud of you ,the country of great civilizations...I am so happy of you
billcope, how was the tree lighting at Villages of Mall of Meridian? Hoping you guys had a good time there and were able to hit up Chick-Fil-A or Toby Keith's place.
Gunshots ring, are ya listenin
In the lane, knives are glistenin
A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight
Walkin in a Walmart wonderland 🎅 ＄🎅 ＄🎅 ＄
What's up with all these people needing to run around with a concealed weapon, as if we were living in Chicago in the 20's? Correct me if I'm wrong, but i thought that it's legal in this state to openly carry. If you wanna carry a gun, do so openly, no need to hide your badassness.
And if this Mark Patterson is representative of the quality of the legislators in this state, then there's no wonder why they do everything behind closed doors.
Who was that Idaho US Senator that was arrested for a DUI in Virginia at the end of last year?
Did he get removed from his post following his DUI arrest??
If not, why not?
Hey, wait a minute! Some people are happy to work for extra pay on a holiday, cause they don't have anybody to go home to anyhow and they would just end up sitting in a bar, being frustrated about being excluded from all that merryment . Ever think about that. And if you ever lived in a place where everything is shut down and you run out of something essential like bread, and you have to pay through the nose to stir up a loaf from some specialty store, you won't be so happy about that.
Else, I despise the the American obsession with having your employees stand on their feet all the time. As if that would make them more efficient. It just makes them hate their jobs more. All over Europe the check out clerks have a stool available to them.
And yes, we're sacks of crap with too much time on our hands, sitting, staring at a computer screen.
"The latest attempt at a peace conference comes after the UN, US and Russia have tried (and failed) to get the opposing sides to the negotiating table to find a political solution."
The claim about the need for a 'political solution' is a smokescreen for the real demand, and that's for Syria to become the next in line to economically cave in to the International Central Banking Cartel.
It's been the real reason for all of the recent armed invasions of third world countries.
And it's the real reason that Iran will be next.
If any fingers are crossed at the White House, it's because the cadre' there is 'hoping' that few American citizens end up 'changing' their minds about the con being played on them through the UCA (Unaffordable Care Act).
All of these technical problems with the website are looking more and more like a distraction from the substantive problems with this con.
Here's hoping this whole technical difficulties charade isn't just stalling things until the next contrived 'Black Swan'.
We've certainly been there before.
Now wait a minute Bill, you've got to give the average "sack of meaningless crap" a little slack here.
After all, they've been deliberately and systematically dumbed down and desensitized to the suffering of everyone, including themselves.
You are dead on, however, about the corporate parasites that gladly facilitate the dumbing down and desensitizing of these "sacks".
Yes, the lower level corporate minions, of the business and ruling classes, were also deliberately and systematically desensitized, but these parasites don't deserve any leniency.
They are typically left with enough awareness to know that they are abusing others, but continue to do it anyway to maintain their image, status and cash flow 'needs'.
These are the real "sack(s) of meaningless crap".
Given previous US history, the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes should make sure they don't agree to any treaty with the Ravalli County Commissioners.
Going forward, the tribes also need to remember not to get between the county and its tax collection.
P.S. to Tribes: The "framed photograph of Medicine Tree" could be a bad omen.
There's plenty of historical and current precedent for dealing with this sort of creative accounting.
The chamber just needs to continue to follow the example of the Too Big To Fail Banks and figure out a creative way to get the local tax payers to fund a Bailout.
Some of the money changers in the group could certainly give advice on how to make this happen.
These politicians are indicative of the whole systems treatment of the native people. Nothing but contempt.
Fire all these bums and give the whole State of Montana back to the People who owned it first. Perhaps then, these white settlers would learn some humility.
