Are you competent enough to write an article without obscenities? That requires a more complete knowledge of the English language so you can rely upon more sophisticated words, but, considering that is allegedly what you are paid to do, why don't you try it.

Re: “Boise State Fine Arts Building: Where Will All the Parking Go?

A Disney blue building on Capitol Boulevard is going to stand out like a sore them and take away from our beloved State Capitol. I can appreciate the University wanting to make a branding statement, but at what cost to the overall experience of the boulevard where the focus should be on the capital. That blue is terribly unfortunate.

Re: “(Not) For Profit

I was the Director of MRI Center of Idaho for it's first sixteen years and grew that to a 15 magnet operation from Boise to Seattle and all points elsewhere in the Northwest. We were know nationally for our MRI quality

I reported to the Board of Directors that included the hospitals in Nampa, Caldwell and was instrumental in bringing Holy Rosary on board. That board included 5 of the best physcians in Boise. I created the documentation trail that led the jury to it's verdict. I was deposed by 6 attorneys for 2 full days.

Sandra Bruce got exactly what she deserved. I know Roger Curran turn over in his grave the day that verdict was announced. God Bless you Roger, you were the best.

I just heard the news last night where I met up with an associate of Peter's and mine. I am still in shock to receive such news from such a distinguished gentleman as Peter. He helped me find peace and laughter in my own shadowed time; I could only hope that an angel is there to guide him to find his. Much love and light to the Wolheims.

Re: “UPDATE: Les Bois Park Announces End of Historic Horse Racing, 80 Layoffs

I'm a member of Southern Oregon Horse Racing Assoc. in Grants Pass Oregon and it is a sad day for the horse racing industry to hear that, yet another meet will close. We are all struggling to continue horse racing in Oregon. It seems to me that there has to be some kind of compromise about the machines, instead if just shutting down the whole thing?????? It makes a person wonder if this is a dying sport? Is horse racing something I will only talk about as a past experience? I sure hope not. Please spread the word that this sport is worth fighting for. I know we are here in Oregon.

Re: “Marijuana Sales Begin in Oregon (But Not Ontario)

Seems a shame that Eastern Oregon is so highly influenced by Idaho; that little dirt poor town could see some real revenue from allowing the sales of cannabis. Then again, so would the Idaho State Troopers, et al.

I do not know what the answer is to the homeless problem and resulting encampments, but the city needs to find some solutions and create alternatives to the misuse of public and private property.

Re: “BYU-Idaho Bans 'Man Buns' On Campus

Jesus Christ was living the law of Moses that said all men would have beards and long hair. He also healed someone on the sabbath day, breaking the rules of his own law, when some priests came to him to accuse him what did he say? Ye Hippocrates. its the Lords law and his church. Is he above the law? Damn right he is, and as soon as you all are perfect you can make the rules. But for now, we are commanded to live by his commandments. If you go to a college, you are under there rules for the time you go there. Deal with it.

Re: “Federal Judge Dismisses Boise Homeless Camping Ordinance Lawsuit

Matt, it's a basic human rights issue.
Speaking first hand to this let me explain that I am an atheist and I am homeless. The shelters are all religiously based, though they tend not to foist their belief heavy handedly, it’s still a focus of their programs. Freedom of religion means also freedom from religion, as someone who has very little choice about accommodations; I have to have those conversations about "God" which I find, detestable and ignorant. Some say, "That’s the price you pay for their charity." I would respond, "That’s why so many avoid those shelters." Hard to believe in God when you’re getting kicked to the curb by a Christian based society. No?

It's not about the chance of getting a citation, it's about the resources. Housing someone is cheaper than running them through the courts (criminalizing the destitute is immoral, yes atheists have morals.)

I avoid the shelters not just to avoid the religious aspect, but also to avoid those with mental health issues, released convicts and those with alcohol and or drug abuse problems. For someone like me, with a disability, the shelters can be a hazardous place.

Look up scoff laws and natural rights.

(continued) definitive. For instance, the data they used was from, a college ranking website, and if look at their "Smarest Students" ranking, you will find that BYU Provo ranks at 51 and BYU Rexburg is not in the top 100. However, if you look at their attractiveness rating for men and women, you find that BYU Provo is in top 25 for both and BYU Rexburg is in the top 100 for both. So, it appears that the "Hottest" ranking significantly skew the results. If you look at the methodology of the ranking you find that it

Re: “BYU-Idaho Bans 'Man Buns' On Campus

Hi BYUALUMNI2015! So, I fact checked that third claim you made. That is, the BYUs have the "Hottest and Smartest" students. First, I googled that and found a Business Insider Article that had the title "25 Colleges Where Student are Both Hot and Smart."And it turns out that, according to this article BYU Rexburg is #15 and Provois #1. At this point, your third claim holds. However, if we refer to the data that the article used the results are not as

Re: “Best You are What you Eat

It seems to me that we are putting the cart before the horse, and that you are correct it is an over-reach. Tackling the issue of what we feed kids inside the school should come first, and of a better fit for government regulation. However, I do not think that calling fast food "so-called unhealthy" is anywhere close to accurate. Whoever wrote that line needs to be more careful. There is no debate whether fast food is healthy, nor should there be whether global warming is real. There is no "so called" about it, and using that language is dangerous for the same reasons. Find any genuine peer reviewed research that extols the health benefits of fast food, and I'll eat my hat.

Councilman Thompson's plan, so flawed in its reach, was definitely something that would help children.

Re: “Federal Judge Dismisses Boise Homeless Camping Ordinance Lawsuit

Benj Hall: Are you saying that the Judge was incorrect? That there weren't sufficient beds at any of the shelters, and that someone was actually unable to engage in the activity of sleeping? Or are you just spouting off with some vague outrage?

Because, if there was actually someone who was unable to find a shelter bed to sleep on and they were actually unable to sleep on the sidewalk because of the ordinance... if there was actually someone harmed by the ordinance... they could bring a lawsuit against the city of Boise. So, if that person exists, that person should definitely get in touch with NLCHP.

I have compassion for the homeless, I really do. But, I am failing to understand why this law (as enforced) is so onerous.

Re: “BYU-Idaho Bans 'Man Buns' On Campus

As a BYU I alumni this year let me clear a few things up for everyone. First location of college doesn't matter at BYUI because tuition is membership based and not state funded as a religious private school. It cost the same if you are from Idaho, Florida, Australia or anywhere else. Secondly, we read and agree to abide by school rules no matter what they are by signing an Honor Code Agreement.Third, Our University has been voted every year for the Hottest and Smartest List that names only the top 20 schools nationwide. BYU Provo won overall hottest this year. The schools have high standards so that students look clean cut and classy at all times. We usually have potential future employers on campus and you don't wear extreme styles to professional interviews. Our image is professional and nationalally recognized. Until you have been on the campus or have taken missionary discussions to know LDS/Mormon, please don't discriminate against our way of life. Thank you. :)
