Re: “Slideshow: Flash Mob Practice

Any idea what time (roughly)?

Would love to go down there with my daughter for this!

I definitely would.

Re: “We Didn't Do It

That's horrible. The copy I got this week wasn't tampered with, thank goodness.

Re: “Sidekick Search

I think the emphasis from Badger Bob was on "That One" meaning that specific woman, not "that one" meaning any given woman... but reading a writer's intention is... difficult (impossible).

Re: “Starbucks ditches the corporate logo

However, "Inspired by Starbucks" does not mean "Owned by Starbucks".

The choice of words was no doubt a subject of debate amongst marketers who wanted people to gain the illusion of choice. Much like how Jacksons Food Stores here in Boise bought Chevrons directly across from their Shell stations and kept the signage the same for years. I miss slurpees, btw, now that they've taken all the 7-11's too.

Re: “Mail and Commentary

Whether you pay 50% of your income on taxes or premiums, interest, and past-due medical bills, doesn't it work out the same? Considering all of the other benefits you get from those taxes, it seems like a much better deal.

Yet in Canada, the only personal example I have for Universal health care, taxes are very much in line with American rates and easier to understand. There is none of the 'waiting period' fiasco that we have heard screams about, and the government does finance trained hospice specialists that consult with people on end of life care decisions.

Why am I not there? (The common rebuttal)
I love America, am American, and know that it's one of the few nations that can break out of wage feudalism and monetary ogliarchy and can continually improve itself. Sometimes it will improve itself in spite of itself. Other times the head of the snake will attempt to eat the tail. I cannot tell one from another from my vantage point, but will still try to keep her headed in the right direction.
