If you believe that karma is that nifty I wonder what it will bring to you after a comment like that.
I am not sure what I did to offend you so much firemedic_1 but if I have I apologize (and I'm serious). I have said nothing that was "out for blood" merely my opinion. Last time I checked people are entitled to their opinions. Getting so angry at people who's opinions may differ from yours may also fall into what you would refer to as a "Hitler mind set".
As far as your Hitler comment's go if you read my entire comment I reiterated what the topic was about (paramedicine) and how it was not about the people. It is stupid for you (not saying you are) to take it to that level. I am not, nor have not personalized anything as you are trying to do.
So with that being said I don't care if you know who I am. That does not scare me as you might think or would hope that it does. The only one angry here is you or should I say "out for blood". I am only sharing my opinion on this topic rather you like it or not. That is fine if you disagree since you are also entitled to your opinion. Just no need to be angry. It is possible to have friendly banter or a healthy debate isn't it?
I don't know or care who you are because it does not matter to me. I would prefer not to know because I honestly like everyone I work with and there is no need to get personal opinions in the way of our job since that could affect the pt.
So I hope you can put your differences aside while at work. You don't have to worry about me since I don't know who you are.
Everything is OK firemedic, slow down and breath. Maybe next time something a little more enlightening may come across the page. Keep up the hate speech nimrod it doesn't work (nice Hitler reference jack ass). Buy the way you may want to look at yourself a little because if you don't realize that firefighters become paramedics to get jobs as firefighters, then you may just be that guy.
We are cross training to better relate with one another which is a good idea. We can all learn from each other. There is nothing wrong with that, that is what we should do so maybe we would better understand you extrication procedures. We should work together without any animosity. I just think that ACP is able to provide a higher level of patient care since that is their primary focus. You cannot deny that. We would not make good firefighters but I suppose we could all get our fire certificates rather easily and watch a couple of videos. Maybe then we could watch you guys put out a fire while I'm holding a hose that I was jus about to turn on but then BFD showed up an took over, much to my relief. Just because I have a card that says I'm a firefighter would you trust me to save your family from a fire, probably not. That is the extent of you pt care so should I trust you with my family, Absolutely NOT!
The only thing that people should be thinking about the paramedics is that they are passionate about their jobs and are not willing to have them taken over without at least trying to educate the public on what is going on. We are not winy little kids, we simply like our jobs and don't want to loose them. I think that anyone in a situation of having a large very aggressive agency breathing down their back on a constant basis would do the same. My family is important to me so that means so is my job.
If they would leave us alone there would be no bickering at all. All would be well but there is a hidden agenda that the fire services are pushing nation wide putting a lot of seasoned paramedics out of work so they can get more money and political clout.
Please everyone do not be fooled by the "we don't charge for services" that the fire department is trying to get you to bite on. It is simply not true.
Also don't be fooled that ACP is the one doubling your taxes or doubling EMS. We have been here since 1975 when the BFD refused to take on the responsibility of EMS.
I recently talked with someone who was transported by a local FD and was appalled at the cost of transport. The worst part about that is that he was a FF himself that worked for the service that transported him. Gods honest truth.
The point is that event the paramedics firefighters only where shirts about fire fighting. Nowhere did I see a paramedic shirt on the top sellers list.
Another point about the budget. You want to talk about embarrassing. It would be cheaper for the citizens of Boise if the FD would show up, let the house on fire burn down (since the house is a total loss secondary to the water damage post FD) while protecting the surrounding houses and then cut them a check for the entire cost of the house with everything inside. For the amount of actual structure fires you would not even come closes to 35 million dollars. That would be 70 $500,000 that you could buy. The funny thing about that is 500,000 rarely go up in flames. It's usually the trailer and more modest homes that do. Just think how many of those you could buy with that budget. And how many structure fires are then in a year? maybe 10. So providing those people with shelter and such is great but I bet they would appreciate knowing that if their house does burn down through lack of fire regulations and response such as the sweet water fire that their house will be paid for. Besides the only time the FD should be doing internal attacks on a house is if there is someone inside (that the neighbors or police department haven already saved). Their TV is not worth your life. So let it burn and buy the thing. That would save millions.
Fun fact= the Boise police department / Ada Sheriffs save upwards of 5 or more people in the sweetwater fire before the fire department got on scene. The BFD, zero. Did anyone hear about the police department saving those people?
Nice try Donnie. Look at the top sellers from the same site you posted.
