Re: “Boise Co-op Members on Kavanagh's Firing

Ken is a class act! The co-op has been extremely successful under his management. Very recently I stopped to talk to Ken in the aisles he was busily filling. He was busy but took time to speak with me about the co-op, the US wars, and a variety of local and national topics. Funny thing is, we ended the conversation about Boise and the economy on his quote of the Randy Newman song, " ...it's money that matters in the USA..." I have been a customer of Ken's since the tiny Hill road store. He built the co-op into what it is, and yes with the help of other talented local people. Why is everybody so afraid of Whole Foods? They're not local and you can bet just like Walmart and other big corporations, they are ALL ABOUT Profit$$$ Maybe Ken isn't optimizing the co-op's earnings for a reason, if that's even true. I see a co-op that is always busy, carries items you can't get anywhere else. Items like the Cow Creek Indian Umpqua jerky. Sure it's expensive compared to crappy jerky, but it's quality. Maybe whole foods will carry it cheaper and screw the Indians on the price. Ken wouldn't do that and maybe that's why these Gordon Gecko board members want a true "Potter" and not George Bailey. The co-op is what it is because of Ken's vision, period. Loyalty is a priceless quality, and so I call everyone who loves the co-op and what Ken has made it to demand a full explanation for this arbitrary and underhanded move. As to the sexual harassment allegations. If what some people say is true, why isn't he in jail? Why didn't someone, including these eyewitnesses, have the balls to take him all the way to court. If it were my daughter or girlfriend you can bet I wouldn't have bowed to this supposed super power he had. The fact is he is innocent until proven guilty!
