Maybe, as other political commentators have pointed out, if Idaho would give up its solitary status as the only western state without constitutional home rule, the cities and counties could afford to, and be allowed to, do more for the people.
But our legislature is firmly in control of this legal doctrine, and those people hail from rural areas of the state, and 1. aren't about to relinquish power, and 2. do not like Idaho's urban areas.
This is a mirage, don't leave MA for Idaho, unless you're headed to Texas, NC, or NM. It's all smoke & mirrors, and once they got you here...you won't be able to leave. Idaho is a high tax, low wage state--by design!
'Hostility to outsiders' doesn't even come close....try 'hostility' to modernity itself.
