Re: “U.S. Judge Reverses Medicaid Cuts to Idaho Adults With Developmental Disabilities

Excellent work, ACLU. In working with this population, we see the day-to-day impact that those cuts have had on this population. The DHW took away DENTAL COVERAGE for this population. For example, your sister who is an adult with mental retardation could not get her teeth cleaned. These folks were having teeth extricated because they were not covered for comprehensive dental.

Keep going, Luker and others. Your efforts will help to ensure a Democrat in the next White House.

Re: “UPDATE WITH VIDEO: Former Legislator, Add the Words Protesters Arrested at Idaho Statehouse

Shame on you, senators, for suspending the rule that allowed Nicole LeFavour to remain on the floor. How can you look at yourselves?

Re: “Education Bill Roadblock Spoils Easter For Idaho Lawmakers

Good for you, JFAC committee members who held to your role as budgeteers and not policy-makers! Also, this allows more time for the legislature to reconsider Medicaid Expansion!

SIGN THIS PETITION: If you haven't yet done so, please sign and share with your friends this petition: https://www.change.org/petitions/governor-…

Gov. Otter's own team determined that Medicaid Expansion was a bipartisan win-win for all. It supports our veterans (healthcare, patriotism), brings jobs (economy) and money (economy) to Idaho (go Idaho).

As a social worker who gets into the trenches every day with needy families, I implore you to bring Medicaid expansion to Idaho. A vital element to Medicaid is the medical card. So many of our families suffer from mental illness. If a young, working single mother could get a medical card to simply afford counseling and medication management, the ripple effect would be enormous! When caregivers are mentally stable, children eat better, sleep better, perform infinitely better in school (e.g., miss fewer days; have fewer blow-ups) and in the community. This improves our state's education scores. Crime goes down.

I consider Medicaid a dire preventative action. Rather than a mental health prison, let's proactively help our citizens, so they don't have to get to that point.

If you haven't yet done so, please sign and share with your friends this petition: https://www.change.org/petitions/governor-…
