I was really surprised, in a bad way. I came to Liquid Lounge for the first time because I received free tickets. Soon after taking my seat I was informed there was a "two item minimum". I felt assaulted and surprised. Maybe this is a "norm" but I have never encountered it. I felt extremely uncomfortable. I could hardly focus on the comedian because honestly I was angry. I just don't understand why someone should pay for admittance(I didn't, but thought those who did "got played") and then have to buy at least two well drinks at 5 dollars a piece. I think if they increased the price of admittance to include one drink rather than intimidating customers into buying a bunch of crappy alcohol(and maybe not give out a bazillion free tickets to unassuming customers) this business might be more successful. I don't care to revisit Liquid because I felt like someone was trying to trick me. I generally spend at least ten dollars on alcohol at similar events . I will not spend my money at Liquid in the future. I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of a local phenomenon and enjoy some regional talent but I couldn't shake the feeling that someone had their hands planted firmly in my pockets. Wait till these awesome comedians perform at The Red Room or watch this comedic community die for lack of oxygen.
