Dined at Yoi Tomo on a Saturday night. Very friendly service and the food was delivered very promptly. We decided to go with the all-you-can-eat, as a previous review mentions, if you order 2 rolls, then already the AYCE is cheaper. So, committed at $50 for a couple for tons of sushi is not a bad deal. Now down to the food.
The fish I thought was good. Great saba, salmon and hamachi. It was a bummer that the AYCE menu is so limited though. Only 1 order of hamachi per person and limited roll menu. The nigiri was well put together and the cuts were generous and very sharp. However, the sushi rice was VERY under-seasoned. It tastes like regular plain white rice.
Moving on to the rolls, it seems like all the choices were either entirely deep fried, or had a deep fried component. Cream cheese + crab + something else + fried = Yoi Tomo's roll menu. They do have some nicer looking non-fried rolls, but they're not available on the AYCE menu. And the movie menu was just a weird idea, I didn't get it. The AYCE sushi experience left us feeling uncomfortably full from all the fried food and wanting more in terms of fresh flavors and innovative sushi ideas. On top of this, I ordered the Ramen, and it's just a bowl of regular dried ramen, they don't even use fresh noodles!
If you come here, stick to nigiri, apps and regular sushi rolls, and maybe have one deep fried roll at the end, but that's my opinion.
